Here's some 20 minute skirmish match in the alpha build. If you ignore the stupid E-Sport announcers...

So talk here about StarCraft 2. What are you looking forward to most? Your favorite race? Or do you just hate a certain race and want to see it die a horrible death because how many times it kills you or by how strong / annoying it is? (Zerg...)

always loved protoss, btw when is the release date? I read in game informer i think that SC 2 is being turned into a trilogy or something, didnt read it all.

I preferred WC 3 over SC by a long shot though...much less zerging and the heroes were awesome!! both still great games

In 09', should be only a few months away. It is sort of like that, it's how it's being packaged. They're selling StarCraft 2 in three "parts." Liberties' Wings will be $50 and the Terran campaign, while there's the Protoss campaign for $50, same with Zerg. They claim each game is the same length of any RTS so they also claim it's worth it splitting it into three games. Online game (Battle.net) will not be affected, so you can get any of the three games and still play any race online, it's just the campaigns being effected by the packaging.

I prefered StarCraft over WarCraft 3. WC 3 felt weak, slow, and heroes felt cheap. StarCraft on the other hand had lots and lots of battle / fighting. I love me some explosions. Besides, Space > Fantasy (in my opinion).

i preferred warhammer 40k over fantasy when i used to play that expensive game. Online battle net is the best thing ever invented, cant wait to see how many ppl play sc 2 should be amazing.

its a replay of a sc 2 game, only alpha version, but it looks pretty awesome. The announcers are actually kind of annoying but cool game paly footage.

Yes it is finally StarCraft's turn to shine again. I'm so glad Blizzard finally put aside WarCraft long enough to finish this. I've been waiting for this for hmm...a decade or so...wow has it been that long? I first heard about this last year sometime, but didn't get my hopes up as I knew it would still be awhile till it was released. Good to know that it's probably coming out sometime in '09 probably Fall most likely. Wonder if I'll have to finally upgrade my computer to play it.

I've been drooling over this game since its announcement. I watch movies and the website religiously.

Starcraft was and still is my favorite RTS game of all time. NO OTHER GAME HAS COME CLOSE. Warcraft 3 was good, but not as good as Starcraft.

I would love to see some more information on the Zerg. I really enjoyed all the races in Starcraft and was decent with all of them. My favorite was probably the Zerg, but I always wished to get better with Terran, but they required so much micro (management) to perform well with them.

All of the races seem to have evolved and been revamped tremendously, while keeping a similar play style. Terran might take my pick in SC2 (the Thor makes me all giddy inside). But they all seem to have tremendous potential (as expected from Blizzard, who has never skimped in the realm of balance).

The 3 separate releases for each campaign was a bit nervewracking... but then I realized it would be worth it. The campaign is going to be epic. I fully expect this game to redefine the RTS market (once again.)

As always, I'll probably just play the campaigns for this. Too much competitiveness in the online matches and they never last that long. I also suck at playing other people. I like to take my time and research a lot of stuff before I finish the mission.

I would say Protoss are much more noobish than Zerg, but that's just my opinion

I just watched that skirmish... I love how much it still felt like Starcraft. This is me, still drooling...

It is, and it's been tweak to perfection. Hell, any of the units that didn't make it into StarCraft 2 (IE: Medic, Firebat, unnamed units, etc) are also in it. Many more options, an engine that uses physics, destructible surroundings, and then they'res the classics like triggers and such back from the regular editor. Either way, it's been perfected.

I still don't agree with the decision of dividing the game, but I guess it will be for the best considering how much content they put for each campain. There is only one thing I need to know now : the release date

Actually, Blizzard has been working on a new MMO for a few months now. They're not releasing the title yet, and it's only been codenamed. Speculation goes around about WoW 2, StarCraft MMO, or Diablo MMO. Either way, it's going to consume my life, again. (If it's WoW 2 or StarCraft. Diablo MMO has no chance of touching me)

I will disown Blizzard if they make a StarCraft MMO. It's not styled to be one and should remain separate from that crap. I certainly hope they feel the same way.

I would venture a guess that the new MMO from them would be Diablo-esque. That style would make much more sense, but I still wouldn't play it because SC is better than WC or Diablo.

A starcraft MMO would be incredibly complex... it might be interesting.... but the game would have to be HUGE. It would make WoW look infantile.

3 different races to choose from, each with their own specific classes. The ability to fight on the foot, pilot aircraft/vehicles, travel to other planets. Each planet has its own unique environment, and civilizations.

I would imagine they wouldn't have Zerg as a playable race, and shape the story in SC2 to ally the Protoss and Terran against the Zerg, or something to that effect.

It would be insane, do-able, but insane.

But, back OT. SC2 - Amazing. I would still love to see more of the Zerg revealed. Has anyone seen any scourge in any of the videos (the suicidal air units).

Blizzard is a monster. This along with Diablo 3 will be incredible hits, that we can be sure of.
