Well it seems that they were not updating the tracking information. I came home and it was sitting at my door. WooHoo played like 15 minutes. Fun game so far can't wait to get deeper into the customizing. I think I will start as a straight up fighter. Using scythe and heavy ax/pole staff thing for now.

When I saw the first Ice Giant I had to pause a bit and take it in...Also those people in the first world remind me a lot of Vikings....TH is everywhere.....

A lot of the things I've seen so far scream TH and a lot of the things I've experienced so far, I wish they were in Too Human's future.
I'm hoping Denis is playing this on his spare time.

Am I the only one that thinks the combat in this game kind of blows?

The camera stays too close, and there is way too much going on visually. It's just an impossible mess of colors and various splattering things, etc...

And it seems to take no real skill to do well. I can just mash buttons and dodge randomly and do just as well as when I attempt to use specific combos and fight strategically.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still enjoying the game, it just doesn't appear to be the huge step forward I expected it to be. In a lot of ways I feel the original was a better game.

I miss the Zelda feel, for one. I miss each dungeon having a new item and then forcing you to use that item to clear the dungeon, and also use it to beat the boss. Maybe that type of thing will show up more later, but in the first 12 hours it is nowhere to be found.

I felt the same way about the combat in the first game. You just mash whichever weapon you were using and dodge incoming blows. I also felt the camera was too close as you get more than 2 enemies and you lose most of them off camera. I am not far as I just released the flame for the forge so have not had a really big battle yet. I like the larger enemies though.

I like the more fluid traversal mechanic so far but I was hoping to get some gadgets like the portal gun and hook to swing around the world. I can already see some places that I could use those thing I think to get items. There are these blue crystals all over the place but no way to get them currentely.

The problem it sems is that they wanted to make a much more open world but in doing that it was hard to put as much detail into each area because you did not have to reuse it to move the story. In some ways, I guess that handicap made them work harder to make the game areas more interesting.

I like the fact TH got a 7.8 from IGN while DS2 got a 7.5 ... Darn you bad press

I haven't read IGN's review in a long time, but I remember it being a lot more reasonable than some. I was appalled at Gamespot's 5.5. They normally right a much better review than IGN.

Although, they also gave Silent Hill 2 a 7, so they can't be completely trusted...
