A really fun and well polished game; you should be proud of yourself!
Thanks Easylay, I had no idea you were doing XNA dev. Actually, if you posted about it here, I might recall a thread a while back. Thanks for the props though, I'll definitely check out your app, and submit a review.

Actually, I was already looking it over and thinking about how it's probably smart for someone to get their Halloween game into review early so it's ready when Halloween rolls around. Are you the programmer? Also, who did your cover art?

Yeah I do the code, get the audio from free sites. The cover art I got from someone on DeviantArt. It's just something I do on the side - trying to do better stuff as there are some really good games available on XBLIG now - it's not just twin-stick shooters and avatar massagers anymore

Cool. Ya, nothing wrong with starting small. XBLIG is a tough market, it's almost like traditional games do poorly there, while things like Visual Novels (especially if they lure people in with anime boobs), avatar games and minecraft clones thrive.

Hey Easylay, been playing through Halloween scream. Actually, I've been enjoying it quite a bit. The house actually gave me a bit of an Eternal Darkness feeling, especially when finding the clock , not sure if that was intended. There were a few points like that for me. But ya, overall, I like the setup for the engine, feels more like an old adventure game.

I kind of wish you had some more prominent visuals, but ya, I can understand making them clearer could have revealed that they perhaps weren't quite as old and scary as you wanted to evoke?

      Nice writing though.

By the way Easylay, did you pull Halloween Scream from review? I told my programmer to DL it, but we realize it's no longer posted.

Hi there. Yeah I had to pull it as someone found a game breaking bug ... they always seem to find their way in there ;(

I've got it posted over in the playtest section until the 7 day wait is up before I can resubmit to review

The backgrounds are all googled (ahem) so I didn't want them to be too prominent Plus I wanted it to evoke the text adventures of old ...

      Hey everyone,
apologies for the delay on the patch, but I wanted to say that it's finally out!

So ya, if there's anyone still up for giving the game another shot, as mentioned a ton of changes and work went into the update, so I hope it's a huge improvement. Should help Raz finally get through the game as well .

Nice man. And ya, definitely, if you or anyone else has ideas, let me know. Lets chat over Xbox live sometime soon Raz, it's been a long time!

Now that we're finally done with the patch, we'll be looking ahead at Episode 2. We already have a ton of stuff in the game that no-one has seen yet, and we'll be adding more.
I really want Episode 2 to hit it out of the park, so we'll be putting everything we have into it.

Guirec, you should get this if you don't have it yet. The improvements to the game are much better this time around and I'm enjoying it more than I did before.
It remind it me of TH at first, not having a lot of explanation of how things work so you're just thrown into this world having to figure out things for yourself.
Sometimes that is cool for some of the more experienced players but being that it is a game that ASE is trying to get as much people to check out, Tutorials are needed to make the experience more enjoyable.

As I play the game, my mind goes wild with all these ideas for this game and other games, so I will share them with you as soon as possible.
I also had a cool idea for SK to introduce a Vampire game if there is one in the making(hit me up if you wanna hear it) but I also can change to work with Joel's game too.

Also check out on Netflix Indie game the movie!!! awesome stuff. Those guys go through hell just to release one game! it's insane and because of it I have more respect for those out there that are creating games on their own.

Hey guys, sorry for dropping off the face of the earth again. Just been super busy with work. Here's a link to someone who seems to have played through thew title update:
      http://writingsofmassdeduction.com/2...ist-episode-1/

Pretty excited about that, since it really seems to have helped. We are just starting up again working on the PC version and hopefully Episode 2, we'll see what happens there, but I have a lot of ideas that I think will help the game a lot. A few things I think we definitely need to do is, really increase enemy variety, increase amount of boss encounters, improve mission/ gameplay variety (for example, try to introduce new platforming toys/mechnics at a fairly good rate, but also mix-up gameplay. Instead of just straight adventuring and platforming, add some bonus stages with different gameplay style). But also, we always wanted to improve the presentation and quality of the story aspects, I'll do what I can to help there. I'm going to really go through Mark of the Ninja too, perhaps we can pull some stealth tricks from there.

But ya, you been able to get through the game now Raz? What do you think of the improvements/changes?
