Well good and bad to hear all at once. But regardless, I am not on here as much as I was hoping. But I know I haven't given up hope yet. Hell, when I watch Braveheart, I always hope that it's a different ending, even though I have seen it a good 300 times, and so far it hasn't changed... but I can still hope.

Regardless, I hope to be on more often. Tons of DLC I need to finish... Mainly Black Ops... They finally put it on sale, and I am regretting every moment from when I start to about 2 hours in, then right after that single moment I continue to regret it. But Resident Evil 5 as well, Skyrim just came out with Dawngaurd too! I haven't played Too Human in ages, mostly because I am waiting until either A. I am about to die, or B. Live itself is shutdown, or C. Rise of the Giants is released. Thats when I am going to finally equip my Elite Armour and finish it forever. That is my one wish in life. Well the big one that has meaning to no one else.
Anyways, hope everyone is enjoying their Summer. I personally have no idea how one enjoys the sun and heat, but people like it.

Yeah that was bad. Everyday some people from SK were supposed to play, but they never did.

Some of us spent hours helping to setup for the anniversary play through last year but nothing happened. The last time we got information, it was stated that something came up regarding X-Men development and a deadline.

We can only hope for something after the appeals are completed.

Yeah I was involved with that a tiny bit. I know that a few of you guys put in a LOT of hours to help PG get those characters all set up and ready to go, and then everyone from SK was a no show.

I think we should burn the site to the ground! Or, better yet, demand a better anniversary celebration this year to make up for that debacle that passed for an event last year. I expect all the people at SK trying to figure out if they have jobs or not to drop what they are doing and come play video games with me this instant!

I don't see the point you're trying to make.

I would hope that in the event that SK has to shutter or transition to another entity that they put together a farewell play along with us. Even if there are no prizes or real structure we can chat, interact and enjoy their art form one last time.

PG, let me know if we need to lvl more toons come August :-)

      There really wasn't one.

I get trolly (trollie?) when I'm sleepy. This whole thread just rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning and I find it annoying that everyone is worried about the state of a community when the developer behind it is in ruins.

Yah, I was just winging it when I wrote it. But clearly your experience surpasses me a couple thousand-fold.
As for worrying, I think it's much easier to worry about something smaller and repress and ignore the bigger picture. I also think without a community you don't have much to inspire you. (Didn't come out the right way, but something along those lines)

Well, you got a point. I find the whiny entitlement stuff pretty pathetic under these circumstances. The thread's original post appears to be alright, but what Raziel posted is ridiculous; he's got an interesting understanding of what it means to be a fan, a supporter.

You have to admit that's it's difficult to be a supporter when the person/group you're wanting to support won't even communicate with you. I'm not saying they need to give us information about up and coming projects but a "hey guys what's up" would be nice now and then.

Though I agree a quick hiya would certainly reduce some friction between SK and the fans, I can understand that they might have a few other things on their minds, and that the fans will inevitably be over looked and forgotten, however are we not supporters, isn't the difference between fans and supporters the fact that fans may come and go but supporters will always be there to pick you up and drag you along when times get tough?

Or just maybe its part of the strategy:-
"What they used to do in guilds was teach about things that nobody else knew how to create. And they also did things differently than anybody else out there. It was a very open environment with knowledge inside the guild, but that knowledge could never be let outside." -Denis Dyack, President of Silicon KnightsŪ

Maybe we should just accept it.

As much as I would like for this to be the case Denis specifically stated that:

"You know, in some ways Too Human got a bad rap, and there are all kinds of details. A lot of what happened with Too Human is going to come out in the court case, which is May 14." - Dyack

Nothing ever came out during the court case.

It would be nice, and it could be easier (and persumably better); I agree with you, MoD. And I appreciate reverber's line of thinking. There are differences. It's alright to understand one's relationship with SK as a compound of business-based trans-/interactions, and to derive certain conclusions from that. A sense of entitlement is not necessarily misplaced. But claiming to be dedicated and somewhat selfless supporter while demanding extra performance is inconsistent -- and, I tend to think, immoral.

lordhering, I'd be careful with interpreting that as a promise.

It could be that details maybe should have come out after the trial, but that because of the appeals process that it had to be quashed, or maybe that was part of the settlement that SK says nothing about anything before the trial. Who knows.

      These are good thoughts.
