      Default Tactical Shooter?

Not sure if it's been talked about before but what if there was a Too Human spinoff series that revolved around 4 player FPS combat? Maybe kind of like Borderlands or something along those lines for lack of a better example? You would play as wolf pack troopers with different classes and abilities obviously while ripping up trolls and such fighting on the front lines of Ragnarok. What do you guys think about this? A fps set in the TH universe. Win right? What are some other ideas you would like to see implemented in this scenario?

There was definitely dialogue about a wold pack shooter game a long time ago, but why not bring it back?

Well, visually, these weapons occasionally resemble guns; but they do sound like bananas.

I think it could work quite well. You don't have to go the Looty McLootfest route like Borderlands but I could see that being a plus. It doesn't even have to be FPS, you could go 3ps with a cover system type of gameplay as well. Whatever as long as it's fun ripping up trolls in multiplayer co op and maybe throw in team matches to give it some legs. The opposing human team players could be the troops who joined Loki's forces. That would make a good fit for the story.

This would also be a good way to beef up the back story of the universe. You could learn more about the world and how the humans view the gods through their own eyes.

SK are you listening? I'm giving you pure gold here, GOLD! What else would you guys like to see?

I figured maybe we could just run around aimlessly and ineffectually shoot enmeies that are far stronger than us until a god comes along and beasts everything.

Maybe we die in the process and become a disembodied radio voiceover, too.

At least we get the best lines: It's always a good day to die, et al.

But then that god will sacrifice us for a polarity and then we come back to life.

Neither, it's a commentary on the sad, pointless life of a wolf trooper.

Yep. That really didn't work at all. It's a rather terrible element of Too Human.

The Wolf troopers were not very effective but you could use it as an example of how sadly the humans would fair without the help of the "Gods". It is also a counter point to how powerful you are. It would of also been pretty bland if their dialogue was taken out.

A squad shooter with classes could be cool.

I am not really into RTS's but it could be cool to control the troops for the big fights of Ragnorok.

That's always how I looked at it. It just bugged me when there would be dialogue at set points but none of the troopers were still alive to have been delivering it.

You just gave me the image of a TH SRPG built mainly around wolf/bear troopers with Aesir cameos. I'm thinking in full on final fantasy tactics style, or maybe X-com style. Could actually be a ton of fun to do it with tabletop like rules for army creation, so you can have one, maybe two Aesir and a bunch of support troops.... Also I want a war hammer 40k game like that....

Oh, the idea is relatively decent. But the problems - Guirec mentioned some - led to a negative effect, overall. It made the plight and suffering even less believable than it already was. I couldn't take these guys seriously at all. That extends to the ones who sacrificed themselves for Loki -- and all of the game's humanity. Unsurprisingly, the goofy nature of the troops made Baldur's own progress through the game's areas also less dramatic. I mean he essentially was running around with a bunch of useless jesters and pseudo action-heroes. Just consider the scenes where some of them die (and go to Valhalla), did that have an enriching effect on your experience/enjoyment of the game?

Yes, it made for a better understanding of the circunstances, just like PG said, they are the opposite of the gods, they are weak and pretty useless against the machines, and the scenes of the Valkyries taking them to Valhalla enriched the drama of the game... reminds me of the scene where one wolf tropper was dead and a living one was protecting the corpse from the zombies on Helheim, when the Valkyre came from the heavens to take the dead tropper, but choose to take the alive one with her, saving him from a painful and horrible death, that was astonishing.

Yeah, about as astonishing as a paper airplane. After all the trooper antics, this scene - to me - clearly marked how insufficiently the whole idea was implemented and executed. If I am not mistaken, the first time a Valkyrie showed up in a cut scene was early on in the Hall of Heroes (or was the first one in Ice forest?). Did that inspire awe? Did the "It's a Valkyrie! She's going to take his body to Valhalla!" babbling of the troopers make a valuable contribution?

In my opinion, almost the entire human aspect was poorly handled. Tellingly, it started with the astoundingly awkward bar scene (not just the slow motion was exceedingly inadequate). Emotionally, the strongest part was Baldur's reunion with Niana. She, by the way, prior to that wasn't even a true factor, just some abstract idea. And the game ended before more meaningful relationships (Baldur - Freya; Norns; Heimdall) were established.

I am not sure if you're considering the scene as part of a storyline, or the scene's graphical perfection, for myself it worked pretty well, I got emotive when she saved that brave man from dying. Also, leaving a corpse in Helheim means leaving an enemy, so the decision that the Valkyre did was glorifying, I didn'teven knew they had the choice.

I think that Baldur was cold when he hit Niana to end her's zombie suffering... I mean, spent so little time to Baldur forget her death... so I think that this emotive component could have been used, and after the aniquilation, he would scream in rage, or something like that. He simply walked away. Baldur even didn't questioned if with the body, their sicence could bring her back...
