!!!!!
cool!
Awesome. I loved Oblivion so this should be great. My only complaint is that Gears 3, Mass Effect 3, and this are all coming out so close together. I'm probably going to have to wait a while on at least one of them, which is disappointing. Unfortunately, this game would be the odd one out if that is the case. Gears and Mass Effect are my two favorite franchises so I can't pass them up.

Where's Wiiggin?
Oh, he's probably already playing it.
This is my signature.
I just hope they make combat more responsive and exploration actually worthwhile. If they do that and improves the storytelling a bit, it could be a great game. Oh and their actual system needs to be thrown out of the window as well. It makes no sense at all that to make the game easier, you must refuse to level up. Shivering Isles was great compared to Oblivion and I hope they start from there.

And get rid of the stupid vampirism. First playthrough I turned into a vampire with no explanation or anything. Most annoyingly frustrating thing ever.
Simply stating the weak parts of ES4. Lots of great ideas and an expansive world to explore, yet I couldn't really get into it. I had fun playing the game, but nothing really stood out. Characters were bland and the story was generic. It offered tons of things to do, but I'd like some quality in the quantity.

Ditto, you can also add Uncharted 3 and Arkham City to that mix... I really hope someone blinks and releases next Jan instead of everything from August to November.
Anyhow, my biggest issue with Oblivion (other than my on inability to focus and not get distracted by something else) was the faces for the characters... So ugly. (other minor issue was the 3rd person mode being so bad.)
But with the new engine that's likely a thing of the past.

If a Dragon-Born is anywhere, he's there.
And there was some NPC chatter in Oblivion about the mages of Skyrim rebelling or some such. Not terribly surprising.
That said, Oblivion is one of my favorite games ever (albeit, with massive mods [<3 PC]), so more out of Bethesda is enough to make me have a nerdgasm. Can't wait.
I never beat this game. I played it so much and became the Head of the Mages Guild, and the Theives Guild, and the Fighter Arena and Dark Brotherhood and Lord of the Elves and everything else, but then when I finlly went to do the main quests everybody was so damn powerful it was nearly impossible.
that was one of the things I hated about the game. You start off knowing fire bolt, and have to face wild boars who are tough. Then you level up and learn fire bolt 2, and you are like "bring on the boars" only now there are no boars, only dire wolves. So they kick you around until you level up and learn fire storm, and you are like "bring on the dire wolves" and now there are only cougars! So you level up and learn fire meteor only now the cougars are gone and there are only bears. So you level up and learn destructive fire mastery of the gods only now the bears have been replaced by enchanted ogres. I could never get the feeling that I was powerful. The game was really fun but since EVERYTHING levels up simultaneously you could never feel powerful like in Diablo or Too Human,
You don't know the Power of the Dark Side...but your mom does.
When I leveled up to 50 in TH I felt really powerful and the enemies seemed easier to defeat. It was never like that in Oblivion. It was still fun and I liked it but as Eleazar stated, "poorly implemented". Hopefully they fixed it in the new one. Like when TH2 comes out, I hope they fix the multiplayer.

Oblivion had a real funky system. The only way to avoid that leveling issue was to major in skills you'd rarely use, so that your attributes would level up sufficiently before you were forced to level up. Really backwards. Worked out for me, though. I started out a pure melee character, and when I found that boring I went full stealthy bow and arrows.
