      Default Bastion (Isometric Action RPG)

So, somehow this game completely slipped past my radar till this point, but it looks great. It kinda looks like Diablo mixed with Landstalker. Heavy emphasis on Landstalker.

      There are some videos here:

Oh, it's releasing sometime in 2011. Platforms haven't been announced yet?

Looks like a cute little game for the kids, but doesnt appeal much to me though. Definately looks like a LIVE game.

Never played Landstalker. Gonna have to Google that one.

It sure looks good. I like the art-style.

Come on man, analog platforms are just so much 'warmer.' There's nothing like playing Super Mario Bros. on a good reel to reel.

SAN JOSE, CA – September 2, 2010 – Supergiant Games, an independent start-up studio founded by ex-designers of the hit Command & Conquer franchise, announced today that it is developing Bastion for digital platforms.

I'm supposing those two and Steam, as they are probably programming the game on PCs to begin with.

Yep, I have one of those job things but it is very slow right now. Besides, it is really easy to get then all compiled in one place. I use my N4G account to cull out all the stories for the games I want. Other than that I check Joystiq/Kotaku/Giantbomb when I get a chance every day, or two, or few, to see if they have anything that didn't end up on N4G.

It isn't like I am google searching all these games or hunting through a million gaming site bookmarks to find stuff. That would be crazy, and super time consuming. My method in combination with a few pages set into SpeedDial on the Chrome browser, and the General Gaming index here lets me find and post stuff really quick.
      D:

If you are on N4G and sign up you can mark games in the tag section to they display in a separate channel for you whenever they pop up there. If I have my eye on a game I tick the box and put it in my channel so everything on that game automatically goes to my page. No hunting that way, the stories come to me. Once you set up a N4G account, which takes no time at all, and then pick your games from their tag listing for your channel this one bookmark will let you track all the games you want to follow in one easy click.

That Giantbomb article has a great gameplay video for Bastion. It is really starting to look pretty great. Now I'm getting a bit more excited.

I know this is from the depths but I just finished this game and have to say I loved it. This game is art.

It is a simple game but every detail of it seems crafted with love. The levels and narration is probably the best part. The game is packed with detail and the environments never feel like they are just repeating themselves. The vibrant colors just put a smile on my face. You also get tons of weapons and upgrade for a short game. You are almost always getting something new.

The constant narration could have been grating but it was well done and I usually am not big on game music but this game kept it fresh to me. It is not a complicated game and the story is not deep but it all works. The gameplay was smooth and tight

It is probably my favorite XBLA game ever (at least in the top few), and one of the best original soundtracks in gaming in a long long time.

Yeah, it's super good. I think it's the best game I've played on XBLA, but Limbo is probably my personal favorite.

I love both this and a whole bunch of others. My personal favorite is probably Comic Jumper even though I haven't beaten it yet... I just bought so many arcade games at the same time but I love the humor in it.
