The randomness of drops

The other night I did a HOH run had 2 red drops a Epic necro charm ( only need my 8000 kils 50 or + now) and 7% Loot drop rune, plus in Tyr's O found the Cyber Bio staff Incisor of the flesh or something liek that, it was a good run.

Last night I did Ice Forrest complete run, working on some charm quests needed to kill Hod for one of them so ran the whole thing.

Not 1 red the entire run and nothing in either Tyr's or the cyber chamber.

Have to laugh, at that swing of luck.

I played a lot last week and got squat for reds. Nothing.

I didn't mind, the only thing thing in the game that I'm looking for is a blank set of orange Lv. 50 dual staves that have the lightsabery things on the end.

Yeh, its pretty random allright. I've played for days on end with nothing, then have 3 reds drop in a row. Shame really, if the drop rate was higher Duping would be far less common and players could look forward to doing a level run and get something decent out of it.

Perhaps DD wanted it this way, with Reds being ultra, ultra rare, with most players having only orange or set armour for the most part.

And, Guiriec... might get the time to play this weekend and I might have some Staffs like that on one of my guys.

honestly if memory serves, out of the like 1000 hrs i gots logged into TH, i don't think i've ever collected and entire epic set for a specific toon on the toon that can actually equip it...
(ex: finding all the cyber champ pieces while actually playing with my cyber champ)
now i know i've found all the epic sets and the pieces are spread among all my toons though...lol
and i know i've pry found ever red rune (normal ones), but i've never found a all skills+1 ever, that rune seriously must have the rarest drop rate in the whole game...

i gotta say though, i removed the loot drop rune a very long time ago from all my armors, and i still see 1 to 2 red drops every level i play everytime sometimes more (it's usually a rune or charm, but armor and weaps pop up sometimes)...honestly i thought my drop rate increased when i removed that loot drop rune...lol...
but then i've always had a pretty good drop rate on reds...guess i'm just lucky...

Yeh, I dont think your meant to Prod (all gear on same guy). I think the idea was to promote trading and the like between players. Great idea as long as you have a **** load of friends playing just as hard as you all the time, otherewise... not so good.

I've found the +1 All Skills 3 times (I think). Never found the Altruist Boots though, but then again you have only a very small window of oppurtunity to get that particular drop unless you farm the shops, because you level passed it.

With over 500 hours on the game, I've never seen an All Skills +1 rune ever.

As for finding Epic sets, I have 4 characters with their complete set and they all found it themselves. In fact, I've never found any part to any other character's set, ever, unless I was playing co-op with that character type and the drop just happened to come to me instead of him.

I thought the game was rigged in such a way that it ONLY dropped your specific set-pieces? (unless of course you already have your set complete)

My most commonly found reds are runes that I don't want. lol

I've never put together a full set of armor filled with reds because I never find any of the good ones. I find crap that I wouldn't want to waste a slot on, at least not for that particular character.

Also, while I'm complaining about stuff... Why in the world is the red Loot Drop Chance rune +7???

Why wouldn't they make it +8 so you could cap with two runes? If you want to cap your Loot Drop Chance it takes 3 slots, regardless. Hell, you can cap it with 3 purples, they are sometimes +5.

I just found that very weird. /end rant

For me most reds are runes that drop, and get charms from some of the Obelisks, ( usually ones covered with mihog) Or in the World tree
On the other hand though, Red weapons are pretty plentyful in Tyr's workshop. Red armor is just rare, and finding runes that are usful enough to put in it is nearly impossible at times.

Still hearing that epic song is very nice to hear, I just think "Got a red, what is it?" and what the pop ups as to what I just recieved.

Guirec I will look and see if I have those staves, not sure, but I love the look of all the weapons like that and save them if I can, even if the are much weaker than what I am using.

Well not exactly because all altruist pieces are found in worldtree segments of the game even when lvl 50, in every level of too human thehers one altruist piece. the boots however could be in the worldtree at aesir in story mode.

Altruist pieces will sell in the shops if you farm them when you are level 44.

I've done it once, but strangely enough I have only seen them selling the same exact 4 pieces that you find in each level.

I got bored of shop farming after that and leveled my guy the rest of the way up, but I'm sure you can buy them all there.

As for the existence of the +15 Loot Drop rune, I guess I'll add that to the list of things I've never seen in the game, ever... lol
