      Default Fable 3

beating Castrum and making this thread... XD

any ways fable 3 has been announced... its Focus is on "power" now (Fable 1 was one of many heroes, Fable 2 you were one of the last heroes left, Fable 3 you rule over Albion). That old witch lady is back, saying how Albion needs a ruler. Choices affect all of Albion, not just your own experience (might need some clarification). Think a mix of Black & White and Fable. Advisors/spouse push you in different directions. You don't start off as the ruler; you work your way there.

You start as the son/daughter of your Fable 2 save. Albion's ruled by a tyrant; your job is to start a revolution. Even after taking the throne, you'll still have to fight and gain support. In-depth strategy (where to allocate Gold, support for certain communities, building up forces in certain regions, etc.). Bowerstone has poor districts now. More areas to explore in Fable 3 (i.e. there's more of Albion than what was in Fable 2). Some characters from Fable 2 will be in Fable 3.

They've done all the story and voice-work already, to try and see if they can build a better story that way (rather than build gameplay elements first and shoehorn in the story stuff at the end). Story branches, like Mass Effect. "Judgments" = new gameplay element; you enact decrees/orders for someone to die, someone to be rewarded, etc. These people will confront you in your throne room or out in the game world to defend themselves (verbally and/or physically). These Judgments can be small or big (small ex. a girl steals an apple from a vendor, big ex. go to war). Think of it as sidequests.

Your dude/chick can meet someone and will have the choice to shake their hand in greeting or not. This will eventually develop into closer relationship gestuires (hugs, etc.). More emphasis now on feeling/touch (ex. cuddling your infant), instead of just "Press A to comfort".

Release date: 2010 (mid to late 2010). More details later today.

Sounds interesting. Now here's to hoping you can actually customize to your liking, rather than just being awesome at everything

so I am gathering it is almost an RTS/RPG but you still do all the interactions and commands from behind your character. I like the concept and I think it could be really good.... I really need to finish all the expansions... I wonder if finishing the expansions nets your heir any special items to start... such as does he inherit whatever money you have in your previous save? Does he maybe put your weapon/armor on the wall in his castle?

Cool, but i just can't believe it's coming so soon - 2 year development time why the rush?

AND this being announced before a Too Human 2 announcement is despicable!

I feel like Too Human is dead... they also said they were releasing some new classes for Too Human which they supposedly already were almost done with at the release of too human... so what happend there?

Anyways... I can almost guarantee fable 2 will use Natal in some way and I would not be suprised if they synced the fable 3 release to be around the same time as Natal.

eww... I don't want a futuristic fable... I hope it doesn't go that far... I kind of like the medieval/gunpowder/steam times... anything else... just doesn't fit fable

Like a modern day fable? no.... what are you going to do.. become max payne and start doing slo-mo gun battles?

Oh I didn't know the evil ending.. I sacrificed my dog =(.

Needs Of The Many is bull****.

So the people get to live and families get their dads back and everyone's lovey-dovey. Then, after the initial joy recedes, they're left with mass food, housing and currency shortages due to the 5 years (or was it 10?) you were gone to the Spire (and more, actually. People were building the Spire long before you went there) when the economy and society balanced itself out to make up for the loss of people over that long period of time. This in turn leads to riots, gangs forming, highwaymen re-populating the countryside, corrupt magistrates, the destruction of those same families and more, and so on. On top of all that, when you revive the dead who worked on the Spire, you also revive all those asshole raiders, thieves, highwaymen, corrupt priests, etc. who were also dragged off to build the Spire alongside the good people.

Needs Of The Few causes the least potential harm, whilst still benefiting the world (and yourself, in particular) to some degree. Of course, Peter Molyneux likes to make you feel bad for choosing it, but **** him. He wouldn't know "shades of grey" if BioWare came along and showed it to him.

I can't see myself getting hyped for another Fable game. The first one was good but not near what was promised. The second was just like the first with the "improvements" being shallow, when it was supposed to be an expansive game that actually reached what the first was supposed to have been. The end of the second game was such a terrible disappointment to me I can't even begin to describe it. Push X to win basically.

-The wife and kids thing was a good idea but implemented poorly. I don't need to be nagged ina video game thank you very much.
-No armor or item customization at all?
-Unbalanced combat system where once you learn 1 or 2 specific spells you are untouchable
-an RPG where you can master everything gives up all sense of selection or penalty of choices
-town interaction was shallow and repetitive

I played Fable 1 and 2 through from good and evil directions and honestly unless they have something much better and different planned for 3 I doubt I will bother as 1 and 2 felt too alike and I don't feel the need to play more of the same again.

Fable 3 sounds much different then fable 1 and Fable 2.....

My favorite feature in Fable 2 was buying the businesses and houses I love that.

hide this thread before Shaynard sees it...

I played fable 2 and bought fable 1 never to actually play it. They would have to put something amazing in this to make me think about it.

      Too late Dope...

So was this the next Lionhead game talked about in the other thread?... hmmm?.. hehe

I never played the first Fable which made the second seem new and fresh to me and most likely for that reason, I really enjoyed it.. Played through it 4 times.. once for each achievement, then one time through a "Perfect' character after I knew everything about the two DLC add-ons.

Although I found the "peek" into fable3 really lame it still excited me for the possibilies.. Hopefully Lionhead adresses all the things that were lacking and more importantly all the things that alienated people who did play the first.. (from my understanding the biggest problem was unfullfilled promises from Peter.. Keep you mouth SHUT Peter.. talk to Denis).. I am afraid they may try to increase the AI in the game.. could have poor results.

Even I do not want another Fable2.. I hope they really raise the bar this time.

The only thing I hope they bring is armor and weapon upgrades. Well armor that actually has stats and is used for more than looks.

Fable 3 is interesting..hopefully it can beat the bad rep that Fable 2 received.

I think it is time for me to pick up Fable 1 and 2...

I never played Fable 1 but I did enjoy Fable 2 although it was short. I never got the DLC for it.

If they were to fix the co-op and make armor/weapon stats I would be happy.
