Is there any build that makes you like Thor in World Serpent?

Like a typical Barbarian from Diablo II?

High Hp, high def etc etc


Or ratherm after trawling through the forum, how would i best fit the parameters for high hp, high def but can turn on the whoop *** if needed too, was thinking Hman tree for ruiners, spider cooldown - what about using the human path for sluig rifles/pistols for the obvious reasons, or would hybridising the build that much make it a "jack of all trades master of none" symbolisation?

i would say middle path, try and get the middle path sider as soon as possible because that shield will help you out allot

Well, you are a little locked in with your choices if you've already chosen the human alignment. You have to decide a few things about what you want to accomplish with your build first.

The left side of the defender tree can increase your laser damage along with provide you with some neat freezing capabilities. However, the laser weapons really benefit more from the cyber tree with increased ammo, range, and penetration rate for example. The human tree, in terms of ballistics, offers faster firing rates, reload speed, and ricocheting shots. All of these don't make too much sense with laser weapons and might discourage you from making laser weapons your choice.

It might be more beneficial for you to make use of slug or plasma weapon builds to effectively use your human skill tree. Therefor, you might concentrate on using your defender tree to buff your defensive abilities by placing skills into Defender’s Resilience, Grim Resolve, and The Berserker's Grief so as to reduce the damage you receive and "deflect" damage taken.

Additionally, if you're concerned about not dying, then the middle path on the defender tree offers the best defensive buffs with the shield spider and the negate status effects battle cry. These skills alone would most likely make it the best choice for your build.

Furthermore, if your desire is to spec your character for gunplay, then I would probably concentrate all skill choices on the human skill tree on the left side for faster reload speeds, firing rate, and ricocheting shot potential. Without a ton of skills on your skill trees to focus on your gunplay, you may have to make up for it with your armor choices. If that is the case, then there are plenty of runes available to drive up the damage of ballistic weapons and your ammo of choice. I might recommend using plasma weapons due to their radius damage effect and you can use hybrid damage and hybrid radius runes to increase the effectiveness of gunplay and the ricochet skill from the human skill tree. That way you would have the potential for damaging groups of enemies at once as well.

Cyber is better for laser defender, not so much specifically the talents but just the weapons.

Laser Cannons can be awe-inspiring in damage if done right, but secondary fire on lasers is usually what your going for and ammo helps with that more

They are some crazy nice epic laser rifles however, as a human and cyber doesn't get the choice of laser rifles(or any epic ones aside from commando set peice really).

Reload Speed always helps
Rate of Fire on a laser causes it to heat up faster
Ricochet makes lasers penetrate(albeit at a lower proc rate)

Hey man about your Aesir armor.

1. You have the same set up as me armor wise, sexy!

2. You are way over the armor cap check out this thread. If you go to the last page I tested it out myself with my armor at 1529 (the cap), 2300, and 2600 so you know it is true.

I would suggest going with another class, Defender Left Path is pretty weak unless socketed with the correct runes and even then the class suffers a 10% decrease in Ballistic Damage.

I go by the belief that the left path is basically broken and useless unless you are spider farming. Here are the cons:
1. The first ability is good, but it procs off melee and rarely at that.
2. Battle Cry is Trash
3. Spider is Trash, I guess they are both decent but they still don't help you kill anything quicker.
4. Damage is good, but again Defender suffers a 10% Ballistic penalty.
5. You are human so Lasers won't ricochet.

Here is my build for my Cyber Defender. He is fun, fast, and he can go toe to toe with a beserker in damage output.

-assume +4 skills
-I only need 1 point in Hardened Carbotanium Chassis because of the Total Armor Cap (see above). I have 2x +20% TA runes in my Aesir gear, and I only need 42.5% TA to reach the cap.
-I chose to max Enthalpy Reduction Attack over the other defensive abilities like The Beserker's Grief and Grim Resolve because I rarely get hit my melee attacks and I am very rarely below 75% health much less near death for Grim Resolve to be a factor.

1) I don't know for sure but I would assume that the cyber proc skill would not affect berserkers grief because it is only supposed to affect your proc chance on attacks

2) Yeah it will come off the final damage. You can see it on your stats screen.

Ive decided my Defender won't ever need to pull out his weapon to kill the hell out of everything, just gonna maximise proc chance, armour and health then grab a couple armour only necro charms, max out middle and right path base skills, max out right path laser and battlecry then laugh as the goblins commit suicide by hitting me.
