No, not iTunes, please.

I was wondering because I do not want to use FrostWire, or LimeWire, anymore.

I got a virus.

Any suggestions?

Vuze. Probably one of the best downloading experiences I've ever seen/used, and incredibly easy to use. It's a torrent downloader, but you don't need to know anything about torrents, other than more seeds = better.

Why you hatin' on iTunes? Don't like to pay the artists who make the music you listen to?

iTunes runs like crap on Windows, and Ubuntu for that matter :p

Songbird is very nice though :) I recommend it.

Sweet, another Pandora user. I think Pandora is on most of the time my computer is on. One of the best innovations in music, in my opinion.

I would pay a subscription to have Pandora in my car.

I just like bit torrents, miniova, isohunt, along with Utorrent. Never got vuze, I don't know why but its just kind of annoying for me to use.

Itunes works fine for me... I'm on windows and I got a year sub for my b-day so no illegals for me XD

Does not apply for us Canadians ;)

I would use iTunes, but I don't spend money on music.

I gave it up for Lent. :p

Yes, indeed.

I tried Vuze, but I must say that it took a while to search, maybe because of my slow internet.

That is my only complaint, though.

I like to buy the CD if I have enough money but other than that it's frost wire or bit torrent. Frost Wire has some risks but as long as you pay attention to what file your downloading you should be fine.

I only buy a couple of albums a year, and I buy them in the compact disc format.

I kind of want this to turn into an "Argument about why you should buy music and not download it off of File Sharing Services" Thread.

I'd guilt trip the crap out of you, Lax.

How so?

We never talk...

Anyways, I only wanted to know other ways people got their music, as I am sick of FrostWire.

I will probably buy the CD's, it is alot easier with my slow internet.

I didn't, but I know now! That's fantastic news! I wonder if I can find any for Linux :p

But, are those not illegal in the end?

So, there is no point of either, buy the CD ;)

I use uTorrent coupled with a torrent finder add-on that I downloaded from Firefox's add-on options. It works like a dream I can usually download an entire album in about 3-5 min.

I consider CD's as a backup, but then again, I back up all my iTunes music anyways. Rhapsody also has a decent collection and works well with Windows. Also, I don't know if you're interested in a mp3 player or even a service where you pay a monthly fee for unlimited downloads, but Zune has a pretty good service worth checking out atleast. I say mp3 player because I'm not sure how the file type translates to other media.

I've bought one CD, in two years, and have downloaded zero music :p

I guess I just don't listen to music very often.

But now that I have an ipod touch, I guess that'll change.

But I do prefer buying the CD form of music. I just like HAVING that disc, being able to touch it, enjoying album art, lyrics, etc.

I buy mps files from www.emusic.com and I highly recommend them. No DRM crap and you can download the files as many times as you want. They don't have as much high profile stuff as other sites but they do have a good selection of independant label stuff like Southern Lord and Load and have a huge selection of jazz. I've managed to get about £500 worth of Anthony Braxton (rare and oop albums that go for obscene money on evilbay) from emusic legally, meaning good ole Brax gets paid.

I tend to buy CDs when they are quite cheap and in buy 4 for etc deals as I don't value them too highly. As far as my ears are concerned they are compresses and lossy and, although better than MP3 files, are not significantly better than 320 kps files.

My main listening is done on vinyl. I, thankfully, have some good indies around where I live who stock a lot of superb new and reissue vinyl. Even better is the fact that certain labels (Domino, Polyvinyl, and more I can't think of) have started putting in MP3 download coupons in with vinyl so that I can also listen on the go.

I like to have artwork big enough to hold.

Another plus with vinyl is the fact that you can pick up some incredible stuff in charity shops for next to nothing. I recently found Carcass' album Necroticism: Descanting the Insalubrious (sp?) for 50p.

www.thepiratebay.org <- the best I have found.

I will not by a cd, however I go to a lot of concerts. I paid $300 to see Tool last year. Worth every penny.

I saw 'em at the house of blues? No that was S.O.A.D

I remember now it was the Pearl at the Palms Casino. I spent almost as much on beer as I did for the tickets. Good times

Used to get it from limewire till I got a million viruses with it. Now I stick with ITunes. Why shouldn't the multi-millionaire get more money form us?

It's rare that I listen to music made by multi millionaires, and a lot of the stuff I listen to is on indies and is self released.

My take is that if I didn't want to pay for music I can get hold of millions of albums for free legally.

I don't really see any justification in theft of music. I release some of my solo stuff for free, but I choose it to be free. The artist should choose in my opinion.

Not directly aimed at you sir woimz.
