Looks like we got another Mortal Kombat movie..... If its worse than that then thats amazing....
Those are about what I expected from the few previews I did see. It looks like a B movie on the previews, how good could it be.

Why do writers and directors feel they have to go a certain way with a movie and a certain style of acting?
I'm not saying copy the game exactly, but create a realistic story and keep the traits of the game within reason.
Example would be the Halo movie. Set it within the Halo universe, a story much like Halo Wars where it doesn't have to involve the Halo rings. Put in the master chief with a squad to investigate some Forerunner technology on the planet. Throw in the Covenant to cause problems and make the climax have the master chief activate the Forerunner technology to fight back the Covenant. Make some humans die, make some covenant die, and for the love of all that is holy...don't show the master chiefs face!

Game movies are cheaply-made summer blockbuster fare that net high returns for simply being yet-another-action-movie that the idiotic mainstream flock to like lemmings.
As this discourages large budgets, when profits are merely a ****ty script away, we will likely never see a true quality game movie. At least, not until a director with some actual talent and common sense sees the logic in making something quality to put on his resume.

Sigh, another strike on the list of bad movies based on video games...
