I was just watching this movie, and I thought.. Man, this really is a beautiful movie. I had to just.. let go of all the things in my life cluttering my mind up, and just experience the movie. I did, and it's good.

Who else is a fan of this movie?

Never heard of it. Synopsis?

It's about a "normal" family, and the dynamics of the family relationships. Also with other people outside of the family- colleagues and boyfriends, etc.

The father goes through a mid life crisis brought on by lust for one of his daughters friends. It's really a powerful movie, and very tastefully done, in all respects. I would suggest giving it a shot.

I'll see if I have/can find a copy. Will state opinion after seeing it.

Alright. I should mention that Kevin Spacey plays the father, and does a fantastic job. Whatever you do, don't read the wikipedia article on the movie, like every other movie page, the plot "synopsis" gives absolutely everything away.

I remember seeing that when it was first released. I agree it is a great movie. It won a bunch of awards at the time iirc.

I have seen this movie...it is worth a watch once. Spacey, as usual is fantastic. I found this movie to be blah at times, and it easliy loses my interest if I watch it anymore. But like I said, I think it is a movie that everyone should see once.

I've seen the movie a while back, great movie.
Kevin is awesome, I like him when he plays the bad guy though, like in Se7en.

Great movie! First time I saw it was actually in highschool in one of my classes.

Best part (not trying to give anything away here but if you've seen the movie you know what part I'm talking about when I say this): I rule!

I also must say I quite enjoyed the movie. Spacey was amazing and played the character with a kind of humanity that isn't common in Hollywood. It well deserved every award it got.

Excellent movie. Even better when you're baked. It gave a very surreal look at suburban family life, and how that life get's a little off track and a little stranger by a mid-life crisis. Very interesting, and like Wiggin said, deserving of every award it got.

I have been a Spacey fan since seeing usual suspects. This is one of his best movies. I loved it. I recommend it to anyone who likes Spacey or just wants to see a really good sort of dark comedy.

I first saw it a couple years ago at a free screening at my university. Found the DVD for $5 a couple nights ago. Damn near flipped out, and bought it right then and there. The girlfriend didn't understand the fervor since she hasn't seen it; must change that. :D

You know, while I'm a big Spacey fan, he has an amazing supporting cast to help him out too.
