As an European TH player I have this game for 2 days now and Iīm just... happy :D

When I read about "oh no, its so frustrating, I died 40 times in one world..." I doubt this game could really be as good as I expected, but I absolutely love the difficulty, its just perfect!
I died 4 times in the ice forest(Commando=hardest class for single player?? lol.) and it was always my own fault, because I used the ruiner/spider/battlecry too late to the save the situation :)

I didnt have any glitches so far or anything that was frustrating/unfair/stupid/whatever.
Itīs exactly the game I wished to get. The loot is awesome(without getting any reds so far :P), my character looks cool as hell, the combat system is fun and...I just love it :)
(And Iīm saying this without playing coop so far ;))

Thx for this game ;D

I didnt have any glitches so far or anything that was frustrating/unfair/stupid/whatever.

I was playing a solo Helhiem yesterday when i got to one of the last rooms, somehow i managed to draw all the enemies in the room over towards the door. I then died and had every enemy knawing at my ankles the second i res'd. Not to mention i was getting 1 shotted by about 5 shockwaves at once. By some miracle i managed to fight my way through after dying about 20 times and my entire armor was blinking red, looked kinda cool actually.

It was all worth it tho because i found my elite pants on Hel herself ;)

Wait until you run into a Slow Troll, Frost Troll, Soften Troll and Explosive Troll all in the same area. Then you'll get a real quick idea about what frustration can feel like.

The game's still fun, though, and it's more fun when you figure out how to overcome the obstacles that are thrown in your way. However, until you figure it out, you won't be too happy. As I said in another thread, Too Human is a game that rewards you using the right tactic at the right time, but it will also put your *** on the ground if you're not prepared to deal with a situation. TH is not afraid to be a challenge.

Wait untill you play the game more before saying it isn't frustrating. The more you play the more frustrating it gets. Like with wells and activating something and having to wait for the animation in cyberspace to finish and then having it slowly show you what door you opened. That's fine the first time, but I can tell you, after 20 times, it's always the same door that opens and you still have to watch it. Also, the camera seems to get worse the longer you play, and it sucks from the get to. And maybe I'm just really unlucky but the drop rate for reds is terrible. I don't dupe and I frown upon the practice, but really, I don't really blame people too much. I think SK is partly to blame for the duping because it really is ridiculous how ****ty the drop rate is. I have 80+ hrs played, 3 50's, but even if you figure that maybe 50 hrs of that was spent leveling (was probably less but I'm not sure) that's still 30 hrs of playing at 50 running ****. In that time I've seen one red armor drop and I wasn't even the one who got it so... Also, I don't know what level you are, but the game gets harder the higher level you get, I soloed all the unstoppable achievements at around level 20. Oh and on my zerker, Garm takes forever, that was a really dumb design choice. Sometimes I die just to change it up a little because it takes forever if I'm doing it solo. Making a boss immune to melee was a really dumb idea, making a class who can't do **** with ranged weps circle strafe a dog for 10 mins was quite uninspired, and for a game in dev for 10 years... Also alot of the game seemed to be developed to make use of the different classes, like in hell with the rocket guys untouchable by melee from up on the cliff and the conditions that do ~900% health dmg over 5 mins, but they took out 4 player co-op for some reason and never changed the game mechanics that relied on that. Another point is in HoH where you have to wait for all the mobs to spawn before you can move on and they spawn one at a freaking time, waiting for that is pretty frustrating too. Anyway, yes, the game is frustrating, just give it time and you'll see.

edit: damn I wrote alot =/

i believe your edit should read: damn, i complain too much.
really? your getting angry at the game because the transition from cyber space to real time is too long? your mad because the door cutscenes last about 4 seconds? and its kinda your fault that you cant beat hel's hound, i've heard that beserkers have beaten it faster than me (champion).
i agree w/ OP. this game isnt quite as frustrating as people say.

I'm just saying that the game's dificulty isn't what's frustrating since you can just breeze through most of it, it's some of the poor design choices that were made that make it frustrating.

the main frustration i've had is with the controls and camera being buggy. if its my fault i dont mind dying but many is a time when i've died cause it wont slide to a mob 5 foot away or the camera is especially impressed with me and the wall instead of focusing the way im looking(towards an explosion troll.
also just gone through a bit at lvl 44 on ice forest with 2 trolls and 30 dark elves, 3 of which were polarities and when i was trying to laser off the gun off one of the trolls i got a dot on me so decided to change tactic after my 3rd death and it wouldn't do a air finisher on the guys chest despite me being well within range so instead of flying towards the troll i dropped down onto his bombs.
when it all does what you tell it to do its a great game but with every hit being so costly due to lack of health drops sometimes it should always do what you tell it to.

oh and commando one of the easiest for ice forest/game not hardest.
i still think the game was hard done by reviewers but i can see why it annoyed them sometimes but still i'd give 80% few little fixes and it would be 90 easy maybe even 95 if the instructions were a little more indepth

well you must have bad luck because i just bought the game 2 days ago and my level 34 defender has found tons of red items. Most of them are blueprints of course.

Okay, a short update for my review:

Iīm now level 50 and 20(Commando and Zerker.)

The Commando is the hardest class? The Zerker suckz in the Ice Forest? Itīs unfair and frustrating?
Not really in my opinion...still.

Both classes are awesome if u play them right!
Some dudes are pissed off because of the cyberspace in the online mode?
Come on, every MMORPG/ORPG has some loading times(remember the pipes in PSO for example) and the penalty for death is not worse than in other RPGs/Action Games.

Okay, there are some bugs. Sometimes ur weapon disappears or an enemy has no animations, although u get hit by it...that suckz, but it doesnt ruin the game very much.

About the "4 ****ing hated bad *** trolls"-complains...itīs possible to deal with them, in a good coop team. The worst is the ice troll...let one of you get frozen and the other do the air finisher quickly and mount them...even if u die for once...wayne, just wait the 20 seconds, this also doesnt ruin the whole game.
There are similiar kind of games where u can get killed by just ONE HIT...that REALLY suckz, Too Human doesnt have such enemies(THX SILICON!!!!.)

I just played the ice forest with 2 Zerkers and if u take care a bit, use ur fierce attack constantly, act smart when dealing with trolls itīs awesome, I had so much fun, although I died 4 times ;)

BUT ONE MORE (negative) THING: THE ICE FORESTīS BOSS IS A JOKE...I mean that in a REALLY bad way...did u ever tried to beat the first part of the battle with 2 Zerkers...I HATE IT :D

To put the whole game in a nutshell:

I stand by my statement...this game isnt frustrating(besides some of the bosses :P), itīs just TOO AWESOME :)

But the thing is, it's not a load sequence. It is a waste of time with no purpose other than to show you where to go, and there's no random map generator so it's always the same place. Also this isn't an mmo.

I know itīs not an MMO, thats why I wrote "Every MMORPG/ORPG" ^^

Okay, so letīs complain that there are gameplay disruptions, which suckz if uīve played many playthroughs.
I donīt think that u can critizise them in the story mode, but for the online mode itīs a bit annyoing, I agree.
But is that frustrating? O_o
Only if uīre a very impatient and hectic gamer, I guess.

Yes, in the story there fine but after the 500th run it bothers me.
Cutt scenes during battle in HeL-frustrating.
Cutt scene to show troll rising from the rubble HoH -frustrating.
Scene to show trolls after activating well in Serpent-frustrating.
Cutt scene to show ramps lowered - frustrating.
And the doors in cyberspace, o boy.During a run 1 turn of the stone should unlock all 3.

25th in all time drops, 93rd in all time kills, tons of playtime. You do the same and the little things will start to bother you as well.

what i do if i not got a gun or if you zerker with crud guns is (found this out when my gun went down to zero was totally useless and didnt have any alteratives) on the bit where he's jumping between the platforms is keep dodging bullets then when he stops to leap do a fierce attack into one of the platforms.

it takes a while to get used to the aiming but once you do especially as a zerker you should take them down a lot quicker than you would with a gun. you may even get lucky like i did once and blow up a platform he's jumping over to which instantly sends him down a level without you having to blow up all 5. i'm not saying you will come out of it unscathed but should be better than with guns as a zerker and you always got the darkelves drops to possibly heal you when you kill them or indeed the containers by the door.

that time with broken gun i ended up fighting second part with about 3/4 life which is pretty good i thought using only melee.

it is somewhat a short coming of this game that all bosses are defeatable with ranged attacks(well most, grndl can be melee'd when on all fours relatively safely and i'm sure you could attempt end game boss melee although how sucessful it would be i dont know). i'd definitely like to see shorter, more fun and more melee bosses in th2. i mean with some bosses the biggest threat is you falling asleep, the others you could well die but still take a fricking age

Very well said, Darrell. I don't think I've seen it summed up quite so succinctly. :)
