Epic Item Drop Locations

I thought I might make a thread to consolidate information on where to find the epic pieces.

So far I've found 2 pieces to my set. The first for me was the rifle, and the second was the helmet. I've been asking around and it seems that people are finding their pieces in the same places that I did. So, for now, I'm going to post these locations as if they're fairly constant. Please post where you found your pieces and I'll update the list.

Human Bio-Engineer Rifle (as well as any Epic weapon):
Tyr's Workshop in Aesir

Human Bio-Engineer Helmet and Human Berserker Helmet:
Dropped as Blueprint from Grendel-1 in Hall of Heroes

Please help make this list as comprehensive as we can.

I've talked to a few people and I don't think theres any patterns besides being able to get weapons in Tyr's shop, though they do drop too because I got mine from a drop. But just for fun, I got my Human Defender Helmet and Weapon doing conveyor belt runs, area 3-4, solo in online mode. I got my Chest and Legs off of the same Hod kill during a solo full clear of Ice Forest in which I also got the unstoppable achievement for that level. Hope this helps :)

Hmmm.. Well, if there's no pattern, then this thread is beyond pointless. I was only under this impression because 3 of my friends all got helmet drops from Grendel.

Well, things we know.
Epics can drop from Leader type enemies.
Epics can drop from Bosses.
Epic Weapons can drop or be purchased in Tyrs Workshop.
Collecting all Tokens in a level boosts the Bosses Loot table.
Grendel drops helmets like USA drops bombs. (a lot)

Things that are superstitiously believed (by me)
Finishing a level and boss fight without dying boosts drop rate on boss.
Boss drop rates are better than elsewhere.
Conveyor belt runs are meh :/

i got a level 3 charm from a pylon in the well that unlocks the door before you fight grndl-1.
also got a level 3 charm off the " conveyor belt run" 3-4.
and have seen or bought the red rifle, red pistols, red hammer and shield seen several times(but i'm a zerker), red 1-hand hammer all in tyr's shop. :twisted:

The weapons available in try's shop are the alignment ones, I believe there are also class specific drop ones in the game. I got a Cyber Champion sword as a drop myself, item stats below. I have also seen two different sets of LVL 50 red slug pistols, one with damage and sentient boosts, the other with rate of fire boosts.

Tyrs Shop has Class specific, I got my Bio-Engineer set piece rifle there.

As for charms, every epic charm I've gotten so far has been from inside a well. Every epic rune I've gotten has been from a leader type enemy so far.

First, reds are Elite. Now that that's out of the way, the rules are: Reds drop from bosses, the more tokens you get in a level, the higher probability you have of getting an elite drop (I don't know about obelisks). Therefore, Hel>Jor>Forrest>HoH; Dennis said this is stop people from loot whoring with only boss fights. Now, if you find reds on lesser enemies, then I guess you got really lucky. :)

I played Hellheim 4-5 just to show my friend the end boss, Hel, and that's all I played. Sure enough I kill her and boom Elite Human Defender Helm.

I don't think it matters if you play full level, half level, or the end or even just the conveyor belt over and over and over, it's all luck.

But you could be right too, we don't know and SK isn't gonna tell us so keep killing and keep playing you'll get them sooner or later.

actualy reds are epic and i would like to add if ur a defender in tyrs workshop there is an hammer shield weapon thats epic that does 2k dmg + at only 43, dont remember exact dmg but i know it was 2k + because i was like wtf does more then my epic 39 hammer on my beserker that does 1800 dmg + cant wait though to get epic duels though.

I got my info from Dennis on the Evil Avatar forums. Of course, there's always a chance that you get red drops from anything, but you can significantly increase those chances.

And reds=elite (unless anyone has gotten the achievement for puting together a seven piece orange set, which doesn't exist).

Yeah Reds are Elites, I can't stand that people keep getting that wrong. It's not difficult people.

But yeah I could see your loot chance of an Elite to be higher if you played the whole level and dominated it.

Actually, if we're being technical, reds are elite/epic [unique].

Taken from the Official Too Human Guidebook page 12 column 2 at the top.

Gray: Common
Green: Less Common
Blue: Uncommon
Purple: Rare
Orange: Very Rare
Red: Elite/Epic (unique)

Personal Opinion: Refresh the shop (join another player's game online, check, leave) over and over until you have a decent epic weapon, I got my 50 set sword there. After that, do nothing but full Helheim runs with a good partner. Falcon and I are rich and happy because of it.

It's worth it.

I might have found a weapon that I prefer over my set sword off of GARM the other night, I still have to decide.

you are correct because the accheivment is complete a elite 7 pieice set of armor it doesnt say epic.

the only red i saw so far on my zerker is a red rifle XAB7? or something like that it wasnt that great i was amazed when i saw it tho and i got OOBER EXCITED because that was the first one i saw...i got to farm alot more with my zerker im just trying to get my champ up to my zerker so i can play him more i love the balance of skills for the champ..hate low defense and ballistics....but ABSOLUTELY love high damage and sliding.

Does the helm always drop first? It seems like most people get their helms then their shoulders and legs.

I got my cybernetic staff from tyrs
Helm from Spider thing doing 3-4 runs (mob was a pain too, it was the one that kills your combo meter)

i have never seen human swords at tyr's but the cyberzerker i was just playin wit got his sword's there. i did get the human dual-wield staffs from there and there freakin pimp sticks. i'd rather have them then the tiny swords anyway.


edit: plus they came equipped with a gravity gen. which is cool as Hel
