View Full Version : Disappointed with Cyber alignment end tree skill

I have to say that I just got my Cyber aligned Defender up high enough to try the last skill for the cybernetic alignment. I am really disappointed. I was worried after I had chosen my alignment but I hoped it would be better then it appeared, but nope, it's exactly what it says. You spend a minimum of 26 points in the tree, and then if you put 10 points into the +armor skill itself and you get a bit less benefit then you would get from 1 rune or item mod applied to total armor.
I mean my Defender is just lvl 30 and I'm all ready finding mid level runes that give like +13% total armor. Thats more then you can get with 10 full points in the skill, from just one rune. I have to say that fact, plus the fact that the cybernetic lvl 50 red set uses a sword rather then a hammer/shield, makes me really wish I had gone human. I guess I can level another defender if I really want, we will see if I'm interested enough to try that.
I guess one thing I wanted to ask, I haven't done a ton of gaming on consoles compared to my pc gaming, is it possible to release patches to modify skills? I know in the past no one ever did stuff like that for consoles, but with Live being so common, is that something the Devs have planned? Cause if they do I would really recommend they buff this skill.

Ah, but runes and equipment have a cap to how many +x% to armor. That skill can go beyond the cap and provide an extra to your entire armor level.

I would agree with the Cyber's last skill, the 10% bonus to your TOTAL ARMOR value is kinda lame. Their is a passive health ability that you get for being Cyber too I believe, so that helps also.
This game is all about choices.
The Cyber has more health/Armor, uses weapon based ruiner, have more attack power and uses cannons.
The Human has more attack speed, combo growth, an extra combo level, and human based Ruiners (which for the Defender is amazing, the valiant warrior absolutely pwns!!).
But the Cyber elite armor set looks pimp, just like the class select screen model. It is very lame that set uses a 2Handed sword, weird. The Human elite helm I got for my Human defender is kinda lame looking to me, but the dual wield mace+shield is extremely kick ***!!!
It all depends on what you really like and what your playstyle is. I can't live without the Human Defender Ruiner, its way too cool, and the elite weapon pwns.
I do hate that since you choose the Human alignment your suppose to get more Empty rune slots in your armor/weapons but the Epic Human set has only like 2 or 3 total slots open, but the Cyber set gets zero.

I thought the same way, but you can still make a Human Defender cause theres plenty of time to mess around and fix how you want to do his layout b4 TH2 releases. more time to explore and search the game in the mean time. wont be a waste of time. thats what i did. i got one human defender to max out by myself and search for epic gear and a cyber defder to co op with a buddy

I honestly found cyber alignment fairly poor in general. Human alignment just seems leagues better.
For starters, empty slots >>> pre-set slots (in armor/weapons). You're basically at the mercy of poorly RNG'ed items (my personal favorite: weapons/armor with both soothing AND aggression on them). Being able to customize 'uber' weapons/armors with useful stats all the time is insanely helpful.
Cannons aren't all that great. I'll chalk it up to playstyle, but being slowed down (movement-wise) sucks. The insane reload speed also makes it hard to reload while avoiding splash damage, etc.
The only plus (equipment wise) is the two ruiners. Having an ice ruiner or whatever can be really handy.
As far as skills go, it's not even close. That 10% armor skill for my defender translates into ~ 100 - 120 points of armor. Yeah, I can go over the 90% cap but that's still only making my armor 2000ish from 1900ish. If you want to get an idea of what sort of damage difference that makes, respec out of it and see what they hit you for.
The spider skill doesn't even work with all spiders. The damage increase (initial skill) feels inferior to the cheaper combo skill (both aren't that great). Human side commando's get increased rate of fire which is *far* superior to increased range. The only plus for cyber's is they get 1-5 more skill points since they don't have to buy their ruiner.
I've made 2 cyber characters and won't make another :(

Huh... Interesting. I guess I never really paid attention to how much the cyber tree affected your armor stats. Because of this, I may have to go Human on my Defender... Especially if the Elite weapon is the hammer/shield for Humans.

Somethings i agree with. and i found the human side benefits my defnder more. like the extra combo meter helps a ton. and the attack speed. When i was plotting points for my cyber defnder, i forgot i had another tree to fill lol
And the armor of human is more bad ***. fully customable. the only prob is you gotta have the right runes. and i prfer the helms they give than cyber helms. i actually look like a knight/palladin/ defender. not a borg!

I might stick points in it for survivability. Armor is pretty godly.

Let me get this straight.... my cyber defender will never be able to use an Epic Hammer? I'm not sure if I'm reading it wrong, but it looks like the original poster is saying that the only "epic" weapon for cyber is a 2h sword....

So far I have yet to find a hammer/shield that I can use on my cybernetic defender. I have only heard of one that can be used by human defenders. I'm starting to think it doesn't exist...

I actually have yet to use the human alignment. I really find very little there to interest me. The increased range in the cyber allows me to kill most enemies before they reach me and the increased ammo allows me to keep the pressure on for longer.

The human alignment epic hammer/shield does exist, my Defender is using it. =p
And yes, it is awesome. =p

I thought it was 10% per piece...
