... that mention the fact that you cant "die" in the game, and are only "knocked out" for a minute when you lose all your health, but seem to think of this as a good thing? this is like what, going on two months after the same people hated on TH's "death" policy? it seems like the two games have essentially the same system, but TH was panned because of the animation i guess...?
anyway, i havent played Fable II yet to see how similar it really is, but ive seen it mentioned in a couple reviews and its all very funny to me.

Well, I just bought the game, and played for a couple hours. I can't tell you how the death system is, since I didn't die. I'll let you know when I do though. :)
Also, this belongs in General Gaming- or maybe even Rant & Rave. I'll move it to General Gaming for you, for now- it'll probably get more traffic there anyway.

On reading a review just now, I see that if you do the mini-game wrong, and fart wrong, you can follow through. This game is worth the money.

oh trust me i thought of that too. i got this game on saturday (love my job =D), and while I haven't died, one of my co-workers did. however all that happened was he lost all the experience that was laying around on the ground when he died. so there isn't really any penalty for death.
however i will agree that i prefer NOT having an animation play as i die when in fable 2 you pop right back up after a couple seconds fresh as a daisy.. i still think, even now, that they should have made the valkyrie animation in too human skippable in single player, and added in the feature to allow players in co-op to spend a few thousand bounty or something to either speed it up or skip it all together.

When you die in Fable II, if you have a regen potion, you pop back up, no ill effects.
If you don't have a potion, you get a permanent scar and then pop back up.
scars for Good Players engender respect and awe for the war-torn Hero from people you meet
scars for Evil Players engender fear for the ugly fiend for people you meet.

And there was me thinking PM had taken that out, in place of a loss of experience for death...

sorry, i put it here because i thought it had to do with TH reviews, or at least discussion of the absurd conventions that seemed to go into many of the TH reviews. It wasn't even meant to be a review against Fable II in any way, just a comparison of how different games are received differently.

yeah, sorry, i'm 43 and the while farts are funny at times, when contrived like this to get someone to like you...........lame. dancing a jig, flexing muscles, whistling at people to gain favor :o we need a yawn icon
the graphics are very good for sure, but, it is button a masher when it comes to melee. shooting; you can aim, but you really don't need to, if your near your target, you hit it with out effort. dying...lol, yeah right and that makes the combat very boring imho as you know your not going to be challenged.
earning money; swing a timed hammer for an hour so i can buy stuff.......please. the wood chopping more of the same, hours of time to please town members or earn money, very, very boring.
so, to those who like it, have fun, glad you like it.
i'm done with it and would trade it if not for my 10yr old loving it.

Fable 2 sounds good, probably gonna get it. As for the death sequence i can see how that could be mildly better than TH, the valkyrie death scene probably accouts for 1 to 2 hours of my play time. (Across all charachters)
Baldur92

there really is no death sequence in fable 2 and some of the scars can actually look cool.

2/10 or 3/10 is laughable. You do not know how to judge a game, huh?
Too Human: 7/10.
Fable: 9/10.
That's a quick, easy, and accurate judgment.
PS: The game "Kong-Fu Panda" recived a 5/10, a 2/10 would be barbie horse adventure type of game.

I really wonder if Fallout 3 is going to live up to these grand expectations that so many people have built up. I highly doubt it... not b/c I think Bethesda sucks or F3 won't be any good, but because no game is perfect and that seems to be what many gamers expect nowadays. Nothing but extremes - either it's the best game ever or it completely sucks and isn't worth a cent.
I'm sure F3 will be a ton of fun for a lot of people, but its release will result in the same reactions as every other notable game:
- Crying about bugs and glitches from players who apparently never played a game before.
- Whining about content that was "promised" but not delivered, up to and including allegations of 'fraud' and threats to 'sue'... the usual melodrama.
- Fanboys praising every facet of the game and steadfastly denying any flaws at all.
- Lamentations regarding the old-school Fallout and blasting Bethesda's treatment of the license.
- Epeen wars over just about anything imaginable.
- Predictions over sequels, expansions, and so on
- Nonstop crying about DLC or lack thereof
- Dire pronouncements as to the market performance and profitability of F3, from seasoned amateur economists working at Quick-Mart
- Complaints that the game is too short, too easy, too boring, etc.
Did I miss anything? :)

I have the game and have played quite a while now, and have not run into any of the game breaking glitches others have seen. You are able to walk away from many of the quest-giving characters after they start the quest dialogue, and that is supposedly the spot where you glitch. If you leave and then return, said character will not restart the quest. I'm not sure which specific quests are prone to the glitch, but the ones I have exited, I have simply returned later and the quest starts fine. In fact other than a few minor graphics glitches, and one time my XBOX overheated (the unreadable CD error...) I have not had any problems

I bought it, and i'm completely hooked, tbh i prefer fable 2 to Too Human (but don't go telling anyone that! ;D)
Death system is still annoying, you get scars everytime you die and that makes you less attractive and kinda ruins a part of your gameplay.

I bought Fable 2 and couldnt be more disappointed. The game felt exactly like Fable with a much much worse and shallow story line. The magic system sucks, ranged combat is boring and pressing x a hundred times gets boring too. Too Human > Fable 2

I found the concept of choice to be done very well. The story was short, I agree, but if you delayed shooting through the story, you could easily put 50+ hours in to the game (which I did), on just one character.
I just started a second character on Fallout 3, but I still have to play through Fable 2 again. There are so many game changing decisions to make... it's rather intense. No game will get you as emotionally invested as Fable has done for me.

I agree with the clothes, there should have been much more to choose from. But, throw on the right combination of clothes with the assassin's tunic, you could pull of ninja. Color it all black.
Pirate, no - least, not with an eye patch. Jesus, no, I don't think you could pull that off either, even with the robes they give you. And I didn't see sandals. But you could get the hair and the beard! But if you wear the white robe, you might be able to pull it off

If you play with the colors and mix and match pieces of outfits you can come up with some very cool outfits. Still, the selection could always be better.
Even in Fable 1, you didn't have much choice. At the end you had 3 choices of armor, bright plate, plate, and dark plate. Granted, it looked awesome alone, but there was really no variety.
