Just wanted to share some thoughts and opinions on Too Human.
I have put in about 100 hours on my first and only character, a Beserker, all solo (I don't have an XBL Gold account) so all of this is from the perspective of a beserker. I have gotten Unstoppable on HoH and Helheim quite easily. I have probably a dozen and a half red weapons, a dozen red charms, various red runes, and not a single piece of red armor (the joys of the RNG). I have not played it today so these are issues that stand out in my mind from play.
Things I Really Enjoy:
- Straight Up Combat, cleaving through unending hordes of enemies. I only wish that some of the arenas lasted longer, give me quadruple the number of enemies and I would go in with joy.
- Phat Loot, and the degree to which I can customize my character gear-wise.
- The Setting. Cyberpunk Norse Gods FTW! I only wish I could actually explore Midgard.
- the architecture designs, I have simply been blown away by how beautiful the world of Too Human is, the developers did a simply stunning job at semi-modernizing the norse style.
- The armor variety and general style: I LOVE the armor!
Things I Dislike:
- Points of Agonizingly Inevitable Death, example: bouncing around enemies like a pinball of doom, i'm at 30% health, and the last one I take down (appearing from behind of course) was poisoned. I then spend what feels like forever in a desperate but ultimately hopeless attempt to roll around and not die. Example 2: Ice Forest, 4 polarity trolls backed by Rocket goblins, when you spend more time getting your *** carted away by valkeries than fighting, after the first dozen deaths its Just Not Fun.
- Just to reaffirm: Damage-Over-Time polarity enemies Suck.
- Targeting: I can never seem to target the one explody guy in the group before the group gets to me.
- On dismounting from a troll when you hit the ground there's a window where the goblins wail on you but you don't have control of Baldur yet, it has killed me a number of times.
- Not Enough Weapon variety. Don't get me wrong though, I Love the weapons! just would like to see a few more models. there's what, 3, maby 4 2H sword models? Part of this stems from the fact that with armor, your looking for anything with the stats you like, with weapons your looking at the type of wepaon you have specialized your armor and spec in.
- More Targeting: I can't target troll or boss parts as a melee, if I could make a single recommendation to the developers it would be to let me lock onto a target. It would mean I could actually be halfway effective against the mega-troll in World Serpent and could kill trolls without mounting.
While I do have more gripes than likes listed I want to reaffirm that I do find this to be an extremely enjoyable game and look forward to future content and installments.
