Hello, first time poster, long time lurker.
I have followed Too Human for a while and I picked it up on launch date. Although I am not a massive fan of hack-n-loot RPGs (I think they can be good but I don't totally adore them) or action-brawler games (Devil May Cry doesn't do it for me), I LOVED Too Human.
Why? The setting is genius. Norse Cyberpunk. I love Cyberpunk, so Too Human made me very happy. Additionally, the gameplay is addictive and the combat treads a nice middle ground between hypercomplex and click-to-hack.
My problems with the game are minor but I would like to see the following occur in the other Too Human games.
1) Get that framerate up and optimize the engine more. I however believe Dyack's complaint about the UE3 is totally believable... as a Mass Effect owner, I think it is fair to say Dyack's complaint is sensible.
2) I want to see more of Midgard. Cyberpunk is a form of Social Science fiction, so lets see how most people live. Lets see the cyberpunk hell. Lets hang out in sleazy strip clubs more often! Lets see what life is like on the ground.
3) Lets see Valhalla. I guess Valhalla is a Matrix-like arrangement where warriors get plugged into a massive neurosimulation where they get dipped in honey and thrown to the Valkyries, right?
4) Too Human's story exposition was a little unclear the first time around. I needed to play it twice to understand exactly what was going on. Nidhog, for one, needed more exposition to understand what it actually was. I would like more cutscenes, more exposition, just some more exploration of the world, so I could see more of it.
5) The control system is a little sticky when autotargetting. I'd like it to be easier to change enemies. Also, the finisher-fierce attacks are a little tricky to trigger, maybe make it a little more forgiving in terms of how 'simultaneously' the sticks need to be pushed in the same direction.
However, I thought overall the control system was great. The camera needs some work, but it's not nearly as bad as some people say. Get the camera-freelook to operate whenever LB is pressed (i.e. not just when you are still) and all problems will be fixed.
Overall: Too Human is a great game. It's flaws are minor and easily fixable. It manages to combine an addictive dungeon crawl with an inventive fictional world. I will be buying the future installments without question.
