Well Too Human has finally arrived and it is a fun game which I am very dissappointed in....I guess you can say that I am mixed about the Too Human experience. All I can say is "Dennis what were you thinking?".
The many concepts and gameplay ideas that worked on paper just doesn't execute very well in the actually game itself. Dennis had many great big ideas that just fell flat and didn't work all that well. However, before I really get into the negative side of Too Human here is what I did like about the game:
1. I love the customization of the weapons, armour and skilll trees.
2. I love the various loot drops.
3. I love the gameplay concept of 3rd person action/RPG with the many weapons - Swords, Dual Guns, Swords & Staffs, Cannons, Lasers...etc.
4. I actually liked the right thumb control for attacking rather then the button mashing.
To me these we all excellent and SK did a great job! However, now to the side that most people at SK don't like the negative side. This is the "Dennis what were you thinking?" part. Here goes nothing:
1. Did SK every think about adding a "Skip" option for the on going "Death Sequence". WOW that was a HUGH time waster if I every saw in any video game, especially when you die 1000 times in this this game which is my next point.
2. This game is so UNBALANCED the worst I have ever played when it comes down to balancing. I never flelt like a really bad *** in this game. I was a 37 level Beserker and I felt like I was still a level 1 Beserker all the way to the end....what was up with that? Some enemies I should have slice and dice very easily but instead I just became out right frustrated with my progress.
3. The levels went on and on and on. It was liking watching the Energise Bunny on TV or better yet the Too Human "Death Sequence"..on and on and on...Enough all ready...please make it stop!
4. The camera angle/target system needs improvement, it isn't that bad. but isn't that great. In the last level every time I wanted to target my enemy I would end up shooting at my TV screen away from my enemies....which of course resulted in my death to many times and the damn "Death Sequence" again for 10000 times. Dennis....."Skip Button" don't forget that for the next Too Human.
5. The story was ok (I personally don't care for Norse methology), but there was so much to the story in regards to sub-plots that I eventually didn't care about the story...I just want to bypass the movie sequences....once again "Skip Button!".
So there you have it. I had fun with 3rd person action/rpg gameplay which I Love, but the over all game like unbalancing issues and too many cut scenes like the "Death Squence" was just our right painful. Is it worth $60.00? Only for gamers who love this kind of game and are willing to over look the frustration that come with Too Human. I say wait until the prices comes down to about $30.00. Personally, I might trade my at EB Games say for $1.00 based on their game values, or just sell it on ebay. Thanks for reading. Dennis......remember "S k i p B u t t o n".
Thanks
