I would simply like the ability to pick a one handed sword and a shield. or a one handed ax and a sword, or a stick with a mase. dual wield should mean that you can upgrade each weapon separately, different shields and other weapons. that would be a good update to the game.. being able to choose what each hand carries...

the issue here is that you would be too powerful, pre- paired swords = static damage, not having one sword that does 3k dmg and one that does more.

simply put u would have one sword that did like 3k and another that did like 5k u would be too strong too much strength with them in pairs all ready there is a set damage

While, I see your point I don't much like how they decided to solve this potential issue... Not too many people would pass up a second weapon or a shield if given a choice and it seems like the one handed swords I've found have been less useful than the two handed weapons I've found... (And my character is more setup for single weapons.)
Personally, I would have done something more like what was done in Diablo...
2 Hands which you choose how to use but your armor suffers when you don't use a shield.
Limits on how runes and item abilities affect your character. (Only combat runes/abilities in weapons and only defensive runes/abilities in armor.)

there is not even 1 axe in the game..ok im done tearing this post up, sorry not really my style.
im actually glad this game differs from diablo. I dont want to play a diablo clone, i want to play too human and diablo 3 which are different games. I enjoy too human for what it does and would like it to stay that way. SK have a lot going for them in this trilogy and it is only going to get better if they are smart, which i believe they are.

Another problem with that idea is that duel wielders would get 4 extra rune slots for the extra weapon. That = Broken

This would not be hard to balance. You simply make main hand and off hand weapons.
Than lets say now in too human, duel wield swords do 2k damage. Break it down like this. Ok your main hand does 1500, your off hand does 500, for a total of 2k. Simply put do not let them have uber damage and keep them based same as two handers etc. For runes, only allow runes in the main hand. No mods or stats on the off hand. Hope that makes sense.

Not to mention 4 more slots than what other players have for runes?
Its workable but i think the current 'pair o weapons' works best for balance and frustration so that you don't have to find that pefect OH to go with your MH. If you do like the guy above me suggest and don't put anything on the OH .. whats the point of having it ?

That means that instead of having 4 rune slots in his weapon like every other class, the Berserker would get 8 rune slots to toy around with...
