How to get Elite Red Items for the Frustrated

Here is the most reliable way I have found to get elite red items. I as of now average about 1 red every 3 runs which take around 5-10 min depending on if your solo or with a partner.

Create a Co-op game with 1 private slot on 3-4 and don't invite anyone unless you want to. Equip yourself with a 4 slot armor that maxes your loot drop this way you still will be able to survive solo. Then just run it till you get to the end of the conveyor belts port back to Aesir and run again.

The simple truth is that leaders can and will drop red elite armor set items. There is no bigger easier to access concentration of this then on 3-4. On coop you have 3 dark elf leaders, and 9 goblin leaders! Add in elite Dark Elves and Trolls by chance and you have an even better chance. So far in just a few solo runs I have achieved 4 red runes 1 red weapon and 2 red armor pieces. I'm sorry but you can run hel and hoh till your blue in the face but it won't be as fast or efficient as doing this. Hope you happy hunting and if this has already been mentioned or discussed then fine it just seems that some people are missing the boat either running it in single player which won't have all the leaders or they don't have 15% loot drop which makes a big difference on the drop tables with non boss enemies.

It works. I've gotten quite a few red items from the conveyor belt area. Leaders just drop better loot than regular enemies and with so many of them in one area you have a great chance of getting something good, even if it's not elite armor. Each run only takes 10-15 minutes so you can do 4-6 of these in the same time it would take to run a full level, maybe more depending on how fast you run levels.

I ran this at least 12 times in a row w/ a buddy, both capped our drops. We got ONE whack *** red spider duration rune. Guess this just proves what I've come to suspect, you have to be really lucky or a str8 duper to get anything resembling a full elite set. But epic weapons and charms? I've got those out the arse... 120+ HRS... ONE ARMOR DROP...

Its been proven to work by a lot of people. Some just prefer doing full runs of HoH solo. Or doing Hel with a partner. ;)

I do a bunch of these a day, about 20-40 runs and usually I don't get a red. I've probably done around...250 3-4 runs total and gotten like...2 red runes and some ****ty laser pistols. My loot is maxed and after around 90+ hours, I only have gotten 3 pieces, one of which is a weapon. 3-4 runs are incredibly easy but I doubt I'll ever get a piece of my set from it.

I love the 3-4 runs. Yet i wont do them solo anymore, it seems the loot drop stacks when you have a partner that is also capped. I've never gotten anything red on a solo run (possible 15 runs). Yet in co-op, with someone who has their loot drop capped, I've seen (some of the stuff has gone to the other person) 3 elite armor pieces, 2 or 3 red weapons, over 6 red runes, and a few red charms... It DOES work (SOMETIMES) but others it doesnt, but that's why its called GRINDING, just keep at it. Something will drop sometime....

Also it seems that putting your loot drop in a weapon isnt as effective as putting it in your armor (I'm not exactly sure as to why tho...). Hope that tidbit of info helps a few ppl

9 epics an hour for me. It get syou "epic drops" however, if ur looking for ur set parts. Play level 1 start to finish. I've gotten 3 full set from going start to finish each level start to finish seemed to help the most.

so how do more enemies spawning effect anything if they aren't leaders nor do i think that more enemies spawn when 2 people are playing co-op compared to one the level is the same regardless of how many people are in your co-op game. campaign is different

My friend was telling me about that and i've heard people have been getting a lot of elite armor off it too... however i have tried it and i still havent gotten anything. The only thing ive found that works is the spider-room glitch. Thing is, the best i've ever gotten is one red rune per run. I'll try it again; but do section tokens affect it at all?

That's the way to do it. What's the point if you're not having fun. Oh and I'm legit just have a lot of friends and some luck. I completed my champ armor without trading at 60 hours.And the whole 30% drop rate is true.:D

Although i really want my epic set theres a part of me that doesn't.

This method works really great, i've been doing it a lot before i even read this thread.

One of the things that has come to my attention that concerns me is when people say stuff like "IVE PLAYED 200+ HOURS AND ONLY HAVE ONE PIECE OF MY ELITE SET"

I dont know how that is possible unless you spent around 180 of those hours sitting in aesir looking at ...Magazines...

I did 4 belt runs yesterday and got my Human commando Shoulders/Leggings on the 1st and 2nd run, and then the 3rd run was a melee juggle time red rune and the 4th was just a bunch of oranges.

I'm using aesir armor with damage stuff and armor/health, NO LOOT DROP CHANCE at all so i dont get why some of you have so much trouble. Is it a character glitch or something or is it just really bad luck?

this is the quickest way. ive gotten my first and last piece of epic set here however it is all on luck if u get reds or not. some days i get red runes every run, some it takes me 20 runs for 1 red item

And on the other hand, I've farmed the spider for two hours and gotten nothing. There really is an element of luck here.

The only way to overcome that element of luck is by being persistent and continuing. The more you play, the more likely you are to complete your set.

I think the OP's idea of making it an online coop game instead of an offline solo game might be the ticket I'm looking for.

Oh, and all of my (class's) Elite items have come from 3-4, and I've been playing EVERYWHERE.

EDIT: In addition, playing an online game by yourself removes that pesky Thor guy from the equation entirely.

I have heard of the 3-4 run on World Serpent but all I have personally got is a lot of bounty and decent armour/runes.. A couple Epic weapons, charms and runes but not armour this way..

I have found full Epic aromour sets for 4 characters now.. What has worked for me is time consuming but for w/e reason has worked flawlessly for me this far..

I make sure I have section tokens for Ice Fortress, World Serpent and Helheim, then I run Hall of Hero straight through as fast as possible. I don't stop for any loot towers (w/e thier called) and only go into the two wells mandatory. Fast and without dying this has worked for me. Within five runs of the level this way I have got something Epic from Grindle and most often my Epic armour pieces for whichever character i was using.. Only once did it not happen within 5 runs of the level and at that time I played through Ice fortress on a random whim and happened to get an Epic Armour piece from the boss...

What I am extremely curious about is.. Once you have all the Epic armour pieces for the character you're using.. do you start to find Epic armour pieces for other characters?.. I have found Epic weapons for characteres other than the one I was using at the time.. but never armour.. Anyone else?

Anyways.. This works for me.. Has for 4 full character Epic sets and i don't really have all that much time played concidering..

Does having tokens from WS, Hel, and IF really boost the chances of Grendel dropping items?

well i just finished my elite armor set for the human champ, fallen kings. wat i did was run through HoH, world serpent, and helheim in solo with loot drop chance maxed out. it was extremely effective, however i only received an elite drop from a goblin leader in 3-4 only once. i got 3 from hel and 3 from grendl. i personally think the bosses have a much higher drop chance then the leaders, despite their abundance in this level. i also found that the loot drop chance was lower on bosses that you faced recently, so i would play the three levels consecutively, which helped.

fallen kings is bad *** btw, love the ****. you can complain all you want about the poor armor, crappy weapon, and such, but if you pair it with a couple red runes, smart skill alloctation in the middle route, you can make baldur rape in a blur just like a beserker.

Yesterday I couldn't get onto live, so I did Helheim through the ATM and got 4red drops - 2 pieces of my berzerker's epic armor that I didn't have yet, and 2 red runes. My luckiest game ever.

I'm WAY to lazy to farm for ANYTHING!!!

However, I did power level 4 guys in 5 days, and got my 7/7 for my HumMando off the spider. Plus around 30 runes, some weapons, and a level 30 elite helm for a Cyber Bio. Imagine... ME, getting an ENTIRE Elite set LEGIT! I know, my jaw hit the ground too.

Will I continue to farm? No. Not unless I'm power leveling someone and something just HAPPENS to drop.

Was leveling up a Human commando lastnight and hit lvl50 in World Serpent.. the first room I went into after hitting 50 was the room with the Spider ppl farm all the time... I was only lvl50 for about 30seconds when that Spider dropped the Epic(red) Helm for the Human Commando... Weird but cool.. I havn't spent very much time spider-farming but this is the first Epic(red) item I have ever got from that Spider...

But the problem with it, is that not many want to replay every level over and over to 50, then do that with the 5 different classes. What you see as beauty, I think, hurt the review score of too human.

I agree its not a bad thing. I dont play all the way through every level over and over again I just go back to my favorite places in each level. And that is the best option in this game.
