Siena Saints - or who is your college basketball team?

I just wanted to announce now, while it is still February, that I'm a Siena grad and will be rooting for them in the March tourney this year. Had to get that in now so I don't look like I'm just jumping on the badwagon later.

Maybe it's presumptious to assume Siena will be in the tournament this year. But they currently have the longest win streak in the nation. They have a 34 game win streak at theri home court. They have a perfect 14-0 record in their conference and the conference tournament is being played in their home court. Davidson didn't go last year, so anything can happen. Anyway, I'm pulling for them, and have been all season.

UConn for me. They are having a rough go of it this year. Between Calhoun out due to illness and a flawed team they are struggling in the Big East. Hopefully they get straightened out before tournament time. At least our girls team is unbeatable, not watchable either but that is another matter. :p

I don't think a lot of people would ever consider Siena as a bandwagon option since they get so little pub even though they are on a big win streak. Hopefully they do well this year in the tournament. I could see them with a great record for the season but with a low strength of schedule. That would have them ending up as the 4 or 5 a bad 5-12/4-13 matchup against a tested big conference team, which happens alot to small conference teams. Hence the amount of 12s and 13s that pull upsets against smaller schools with better records.

I love college basketball, the NCAA tournament is my favorite sporting event of the whole year.

I think I'm going to buy an NCAA basketball video game and start getting in the spirit now. The Superbowl was fun, but I started looking to the future as soon as they picked off Manning in the 4th quarter.
