Beign a UConn fan I am definitely looking forward to what they do this year. They lost a lot from last year and will have to run a lot more up tempo without Adrien and Thabeet. This is the first time in nearly a decade where they don't have a huge shot blocker to rely on. They had Okafor, Boone, and Thabeet right in a row. I think they led the NCAA in blocks 8 years running.
NCAABB is one my favorite things to watch for TV sports, only second to the NFL.

Thabeet is one hell of a shot blocker. Insane arm span ftw!

Great games over the last 24 hours, anyone watch?

I caught some of the ESPN 24 hours NCABB marathon but wasn't watching any complete games. I was too wrapped up in my 360. The early season games normally aren't that good as the big teams schedule soft opponents (outside of the Maui Invitational and stuff). I will be watching but I really start counting down to conference play.

Yeah, thats when the action gets good:)
Both #1 Kansas and #2 Mich St. had close games.
Cole Aldrich looks great this year. I'll foresact it now, NCAA player of year.

I caught the 4th quarter of the MSU v Gonzaga game and it was really good. It was weird to see the #1 and #2 teams have such close games early in the season. That normally doesn't happen.
I switched over to ESPN2 for a couple minutes to see if Uconn's women were actually going to be challenged by Texas. Nope. They are probably going to go undefeated again this year. They went 39-0 with all double digit wins last year and just iced a team that was supposed to be competitive by 25 after coasting. No real reason to watch them at all.

Besides boobies, I concur :p
Both top two teams played against competitive teams. Memphis did play in the championship (and lost to Kansas:D) in '08. Sure they lost some players but they're still a good team. So is Gonzaga, they have made it to the tourny how many years in a row?
I find quite fitting that the top 2 teams don't have an easy win to open the season. Doesn't bring in the false sense of reality by blowing out a team for more then 30 points.
Check some of the opponents against top 25 teams.
Charlotte - 59
#8 Duke - 101
NC-Asheville - 49
#11 Tennessee - 124
#23 Clemson - 79
Liberty - 39

Yeah, I wasn't saying it was a bad thing. It was just odd because normally you see scores like the once you posted and not close games for the top teams this early. I will never complain about being able to see a competitive game early in the season. :)

Kentucky vs UConn tonight at 9:30 EST on ESPN. Should be a good game, a nice early season matchup between to big name programs at the very least.

UNC is looking decent this year, but we need to look at next year; potential starting line up of Zeller-Davis-Henson-Barnes-Drew II is pretty special. And with the Wear twins, Strickland, Graves, Watts, and the new top recruits Bullock and Marshall, I'm feeling a title next year.

K-State hands No. 1 Texas first loss (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/recap?gameId=300182306)
I'm a long time Kansas fan but I'll root for the other side of the state. Plus my sister is attending KSU, so I have to support her...
