First encounter with the "Nidhogg"

Yeah, spoilers:

So yesterday I bought the game and I'm playing through it for the first time, and I came to a Cyberspace interlude with the lovely ladies telling me about the Nidhogg for the first time, how they can't touch it but I can, so I should help them reclaim this area, etc. I walk down to the area they show me with all the glowy purple tentacles, and there's obviously something to interact with there - a little run on the ground with a shimmering object in front of it, just like the rocks and other objects you learn to use your "push" ability on.

Thing is, I couldn't interact with it at all. "Push" doesn't do anything and stepping on the rune circle in front of the glimmering object didn't create the swirling lights around me. Did I miss a well somewhere and never gained the next Cyberspace ability beyond Push? Obviously you're supposed to do *something* there but I can't do whatever that is. I pushed on and probably cannot revisit that location now (if I can even remember it) but I'm curious about what I did wrong.

you get the ability to get rid of nidhogg later on. kinda gives you a reason to back to those areas and get the loot.

Try doing the wells your second game run, once you have all the abilities for them unlocked. You have to burn away the purple tentacle things.

Yep, firestarting comes after walking on water.

It's the last C3 ability you get (in Helheim)

Best to go through either before you go to the Feasting Hall at the end (after Helheim) or after you start a new game as mentioned above.

Cool, thanks for the info, I'm glad I didn't overlook something significant. (Seems impossible given that the Cyberspace content is basically spoon-fed to you, but who knows.)

so when do you get this cutscene cuz i think i have missed it and i never heard of no nidhogg and i have all teh abilities can someone tell me where i have to go to get this nidhogg character out of there?

It's not a character, it's more like the force that opposes the Norns in Cyberspace. "Where we grow, it consumes" they say. (Along with a lot of gibberish about recovering dead processes and other techno-babble.)

I can't remember where the well was located, but it's early in the game given that I'm only on the 2nd mission (Hode). It's the well that you enter and use your force powers to push a boulder down a hill, where it crashes through a wall / gate. You probably missed it b/c you just went right back through the well at that point; you have to go down the hill, through the hole your boulder made in the wall, and the Norns will start talking about Nidhogg.

oooooooooo ok :D see there was a good crack in the land so thats why i didnt go there you can walk over it? ill try it later on today or tommorow
