After 15 years Jim Rice is getting into the HOF today and deservedly so. Class player and person. Here is a story that I have known for a while as a Sox fan but some people may not about Rice jumping into the stands to come to the aid of an injured boy.

Also I wish the HOF would pull the voting rights of anyone who didn't vote for Henderson as a first ballot HOF player. He is the best leadoff hitter of all time (and it isn't close) and the all time SB leader by a tremendous amount. Anyone who actually checked "NO" on the ballot for him shouldn't have the right to vote for the Hall of Fame anymore because they in effect proved that they don't understand what the HOF is for and how to rate a player on their merits. There is no way that he should have got less than 100% yes votes at all.

Contgrats to both players and hopefully the voters will get their heads on straight next year and vote in Daswon, Blyleven, and Morris. Tim Raines should be in as well but he will probably never get the votes. He was outshined by Henderson but was easily a top 5 leadoff guy in the history of baseball and if he wasn't playing on crap teams would have ended up with a lot more recognition.
