I have never tried to max out. Even when I was going to the gym every day, sometimes twice a day.

Yeah I would never go for a one rep max. To me it's really kind of pointless to just do one rep as you don't gain anything. If it means anything to ya though I can bench 265 for 10-12 reps.

I have overgrown bone in my arms which means that I can never straighten out and lock my arms in place. So I'm physically unable to do any bench pressing over my own weight.

That is also a Jerky Boys reference. He is trying to get a job as a mechanic and the guy asks how much benchwork he has done.
"How much bench work have you done?"
"350 pieces?"
"Pieces? What the @&*$ you talkin' 'bout?! Pieces?! Pounds BABY, POUNDS!"
I tried to find a youtube clip of it but I can't track one down.
As to the OP, I used to be able to do about 150% of my weight when I was in track and training every day but after a whole mess of shoulder separations and some long downtime I don't even attempt benchwork.

!50% was my max.. I would never claim to be able to bench a weight without being able to do so for at least two sets of 10 reps... For me when I weighted 150lbs I could do at least 200 while in shape... It has been a long time since I tested myself... I was young when I weighed 150.

300 lbs bench at 150 weight is 200% Shayn. I used to do short sets of 225 freeweight when I weighed 145. That was also a long time ago as well. :)

I typed a 3 instead of a 2... ooops.. lol.. I could do more but 200 was a comfortablly high weight.

I was going to say, 300lbs at 150 is insane. :D
I was never a big max numbers guy, when I was working out it was primarily just to get stronger so I could beat other people at whatever sport I was playing at the time.

Yes it would be.. thats what i get for typing too fast without enough coffee.. Something I know you understand.. :D
Agreed. I was training for martial arts and my focus was speed over and force over actual strength... So benching that much was never needed. I found out how much I could bench while trying to show up all the Football jocks in my highschool.. :)
Former Canadian Heavyweight arm wrestling champ(both arms) Garvin Lewis was a friend of my Dad's while I was growing up.. he went on to become world heavyweight champ on his left arm... I've seen that guy bench over 200% of his weight... Freakish.

I'm a reps kinda guy.
I work out to tone up and stay in shape, not to gain muscle mass and body size.
So my weight remains fairly low with higher reps. Usually anywhere from 80-150, depending on what muscles i am focused on that day.
But as for my max, i havent tried that out in like 10 years. lol
I had a bad 6 month sebatical from the gym, so im back now trying to fix neglect with a trainer. keeps me disciplined at least. :)

I should have known you'd be a fellow Jerky Boys fan! I used to do a killer Saul Rosenberg voice, those were always my favorites for some reason. Remember the Saul's glasses skit?
Doctor: “So would you like to come in and see us, Mr Rosenberg?”
Saul: “Sure!”
“Alright, we’re at 30 East 60th Street…”
“Okay, 35 78th Street, okay…”
“No no no, we’re at 30…Thirty. Three-zero…
“Okay!”
“…30 East 60th street.”
“Alright, should I bring all my glasses wit me?”
“Do you need an examination?”
“And all my glasses?”
“Mr Rosenberg, do you need an examination?”
“Okay!”
“DO YOU NEED AN EXAMINATION?”
“Alright!”
“Yeah? Alright. You need an appointment…”
“Right, and I’ll bring all my shoes, and my, my glasses with me.”
*silence*
“So I have dem.”
“Mr Rosenberg.”
“Sure!”
“Do you want to see the opthamologist?”
“Right.”
“You need an appointment.”
“I’m sorry!”
“You need an appointment!”
“Okay.”
“OK, Hold on I’ll have my girl make an appointment with you. Do you have the address?”
“Fantastic then!”
“You have the address? What room?”
“Four? I don’t know, you say thirty-five eight seven?”
“NO! It’s 30 East 60th Street, now hold on and we’ll get an appointment for you.”
*receptionist gets on the line*
“Hello, Mr Rosenberg?”
“Barbara?”
“Err, yes, uh, I have make an appointment with you, sir. When would you like to come in?”
“Whenever you want me to, honey. Whatever’s good for you.”
“Uh, you want to come in tomorrow?”
“Sure, if you’re free…”
“Yes. Um, you can come in around 12 o’clock?”
“Okay honey baby!”
*silence*
“Alright sweetie?”
“Er, okay. Goodbye.”
“Bye bye!”

To be honest, I don't really know since when I work out, I don't have a spotter...but to my estimates..about 150 would be 10 rep max for me.

No idea, I've never been one to lift weights. Although I have skinny arms, I'm stronger than I look. It never helped that I have always had a wingspan 2 to 4 inches longer than an average person my height (6'), although it helped a lot with basketball.

I can't bench much, never thought of it as useful towards any sports I play/played. Soccer was all legs and core, skiing is legs, and badminton is more speed and finesse than power.. But I can only do about 125 :p, my own weight..
My gym teacher though, pretty sure he put up 550 to make the football players feel bad. He's freaking ripped though, not even funny how huge he is, but I beat him in badminton so strength isn't everything.

In season between 380 and 390
Off season between 420 and 430
This number really changes if I am allowed to wear a bench shirt.
