The last few paragraphs are pretty good.
I think the proplem is that they keep making these movies PG13, that really limits a comic book hero like wolverine and especially the villians aswell as limiting the fight scenes to nothing more than a bunch of explosions then someone laying on the ground because aparently something bad happened to them while we were watching the fire works but its up to our mind to figure it out! :o
EDIT: Also I dont liek the part of this review when hes talking about Logans HairCut... Yes it is a dumb haircutt but the actor has to resemble the character. If we dont care that the actor atleast resembles who he is supposed ot be playing then we might aswell have an Asian wolverine... Or maybe chop off Supermans little curly que thing! Then Reviewers would gripe about that...

I stopped reading at:
....it doesn't worry about where his most distinctive genetic features might have come from: the retractable claws that spring from his knuckles when he's irked and his invulnerability to anything short of decapitation.
Clearly this guy has absolutely no idea about the source material. While I understand he's reviewing the movie based on its merits as a standalone movie, it's clearly intended to be viewed by the comic book reading demographic. If you knock down the movie because it doesn't explain where Logan got his powers from (Uh, how would they? Show him coming out of the womb, getting circumcised and having the foreskin grow back?), and about his hairstyle, then you shouldn't be watching this movie.

Serviceable but inescapably redundant, this "Wolverine" movie does just enough to keep the "X-Men" franchise on life support, but the filmmakers will have to come up with some evolutionary changes soon if it's going to escape X-tinction.
Keep X-Men on life support? I'm pretty sure the series since 2000 has been far from struggling on life support. This is just another bitter movie critic with a bone to pick with popularity. Pretty bad review if you ask me; a very one sided, narrow minded argument.

I've been looking forward to this movie for a long time, and I hope they really play into the Weapon X program. Seeing that Wolverine is the most recognized of the X-Men, this was the best direction to go with the franchise, as it would probably pull in more bucks than another X-Men movie. More so than seeing what they do with the Weapon X program, I'm REALLY excited to see how the do the interactions between Deadpool and Wolverine. I was always ammused when I read the comments to see Deadpool's strange, and sometimes awkward, facination with Wolverine.
I certainly agree about the article Red, very one sided. But everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am really interested in this movie and the reviewer thinks it's horrible. I would imagine he really enjoyed the Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where I did not.
Addition:
I found this bust of Wolverine and Deadpool, and I wanted to share it with you all...

I can't help but wonder if he is even aware that these movies are based off of preexisting and extremely famous/popular comic books.

What I want to see is Wolverine vs. Spiderman. Done right of course and with the actuall actors and characters from the movies... :D

I acually went and seen this movie yesterday, and I have to say, I think it was the best x-men movie they have done yet. I think x2 and3 were a big let down compared to this one. I really enjoyed it and haveing the guy from Van Wilder play as Deadpool was the best choice in actors to bring out his charicter.

The only character I didn't like the casting for was the guy who played Gambit. No cajun accent? Really? Cmon. I think they were way off on him in the movie in general in attitude, action, and look. The movie was good overall though the CGI was a bit shaky at the resolution. Some parts were like Unsolved Mysteries or old Battlestar Gallactica CG bad. The story was good though and the action was pretty well done. The guy who played Sabretooth stole the show though for me. He played a really good part.

The movie was too much of a "summer movie" for me.
What I mean by that is, It was really cluttered, and there was not enough time to connect with anyone, when something happened to a character, I found myself depressingly indifferent about it.
Not only that, but I really cannot get over what they did to Deadpool.

Could have been worse, lost pontential there.
BB is right though, not enough time for character development which kinda sad, but for some reason with the Xmen movies it always something that has to have a "large" cast of mutants. I honestly believe that the directors have always tried to appeal to the comic fans by having as many mutants on the screen as possible. Kinda like "oh look at that!" factor.
This movie could have been more focused on Wolverine and a fewer mutants. But somewhere along the process someone thought more mutants were better...

It's very hard to fit so many other mutants in Logan's past in an 108 minute slot. If you have really read everything about Logan's past, you would understand that the number of mutants that they have in movie is tiny compared to how many he has actually interacted with. I believe they tried to put in the most key characters.
I have to ask... the interactions between Logan and Deadpool... where they as interesting and hilarious as I hope they will be?

This is why I dont read movie reviews. There are always one sided. There is a comedy-documentary movie called "heckler". It's about critics and and stand up hecklers. The movie does state impressive comments about these on sided critics. I have to agree with them.
It's so much easier to flame a game/movie then it is to review it 100% like they should. The only thing I really watch far as reviews is X-Play. I think how they set up their reviews and show the game play of the game. They explain enough of the game to me. Even if they didnt like it. They still show the review in away where I might.
Best way to deal with critics is not read their petty thoughts.
If you do find a critic that does their job correctly. Then stick with them.

i loved the movie but i would have to agree with BB on the Deadpool thing, he should never die, in fact, he was part of the xmen at a time, so how did he get to the point of being killed?
Deadpool should never die, his the most BA marvel character ever!!!!

Mutants do not develop their abilities until adolescence, so any wounds or injuries before that time he wouldn't regenerate.

Yes, but look at the mutants the put in, other than Wolverine, Cyclops, and a few others, they decided to put in some mutants just for the hell of it. Look at Gambit, he isn't even involved in Wolverine's origin story, but fans demanded it and they put him in.
I honestly think that if Marvel REALLY wanted to make a quality origin story for wolverine, they should have broken it into 2/3 parts. The time he spends in Japan could be an movie.
It could have been a better movie, but it really had potential.

I'm sad that they used Yuriko in the second movie, and they didn't even supply a back story for her, as she was once involved with Wolverine.

I apologize for the double post here, but I just got back from taking the wife and kids to go see the movie, and I was very pleased. Did anyone else who went and saw the movie wait tell the end of credit's before they left? I was very pleased with the special little suprise they snuck in after the credit's.

There is actually two different endings after the credits.
SPOILER!! One is where Wolverine goes into the bar and starts drinking saying he is drinking to remember.
Another is where Deadpool comes back to life and grabs his head. This one is actually the better one if you ask me.

I also got the second suprise, so I hold out hope for the future. I did not like the fact that Deadpool no longer had a mouth. It's what gave him all of his flare. But the second ending sure did give me hope that he'll return in some future movie.

A deadpool movie could work, here's hoping it does happen. But I believe that deadpool doesn't hold large appeal like the more popular marvel characters.

They made a Blade trilogy and a Ghost Rider movie. I think Deadpool has at least the fan following of both of those characters.

Well now that the back story has been filled in on the "fan favorite" X-Men (Wolverine), maybe they can go ahead and press on with the next movie to pick up where the third movie left off. I'de like to see a movie with Apocolypse in it. They already have Angel ready to become ARCHAngel, they can incorporate Deadpool into the story somehow... I just think it would make for an excellent movie. The backstory on Apocolypse is all very interesting.

They would never do a movie version of Apoclypse justice. YOU KNOW some movie exec would read the backstory and change it to something stupid. Which i can understand, but can not condone...
Just like with FF and Galactus...a @E$@$ CLOUD!?!? Movie audiences would have just been WTF when a giant purple dude showed up.

I desperately tried to rationalize the Galactus thing. I vaguely recall a scene where you see a shadow of his infamous helmet "horns" in the cloud. I rationalized the circular cloud as it just being a cloud of **** that is surrounding his ship as it makes its way into our atmosphere. His ship is spherical, so it made some sense. Though, I would have preferred the true Galactus.

O man i hear u on that. It deff would bring a few more fan base to the movie if they had more blood i guess i cld say, but being a hero movie and such it somewhat doesnt need it. One thing i do hav to say is they finally got mutants such as Gambit(witch sould hav been in the first one), and death pool(sry death pool is my kind of guy). I thinks its ganna be a sweet movie from what i can c now, idk bout the story line but the action looks sweet.

I saw the movie and enjoyed it as a "summer" movie. I would have preferred to see more time with Weapon X and less flying through his history. I realize they are showing how old he is but I'd prefer them to pick certain points in his history and develop them than just showing one scene from each decade.
Also, I am alright with Gambit. I was petrified of how he would be represented. I did laugh when he suddenly lost his accent completely.
I don't like what they did with Deadpool. Hopefully he will be back to the deadpool we know and love after the "events". Also from the Deadpool related credits teaser it shows that the mouth will be back
