in this thread Meanings of colours (http://siliconknights.net/forums/showthread.php?t=8358) i brought up how the use of colours in ED corresponds to the use of colours in TH.

Anyone else notice anything similar?

Also Pious Augustus voice actor voices one of the executed soldiers.

Now that you mention it, those similarities do generally coincide.

If this was the intended effect, I think it's fair to say that the attention to detail in TH wasn't even picked up by reviewers, which is kind of sad. I guess you need a mallet-in-the-face "OH MY GOD IT'S THAT DUDE FROM THE LAST GAME" moment for any reviewer to cue in anymore.

I remember in the dev diaries that they were talking about the attention they were applying towards the art design for each area in TH. I guess this could be an associated effect.

I think I might have to play through the game again now :-P

After Thor falls through the bridge, the way the camera moves when you move on reminds me a lot of some of the camera movements in ED. That entire incident with Thor and you not really being out of cyberspace is very EDesque. IMO

When you use a battle cry and the runes are around your character also brought back some ED memories the first few times I did it.

Thats a good point about Thor.

I haven't played Ed in ages so memories are a little faded now, but I do remember sinking into the ceiling and the bit where the Mem card mess up.. Anyway I'll dig my Cube out of the loft over the weekend and come back to this.

That's Richard Doyle - he's in a lot of games, so it's possible someone just liked his voice enough to include him in TH. Even if there's more to it than that, it's very likely that the reviewers assumed (as I did) that it was only the "we liked his voice" factor.
You'll see that sort of "miscellaneous voices" role pop up all over the place for well-known voice actors. Simon Templeman (Kain in the Legacy of Kain games, Gabriel Roman in Uncharted, etc.) is also an unnamed trooper in KOTOR, etc.
