My two recommended TV series.
Supernatural is now on the 4th season - I recommend buying the DVDs and start from season 1. Horror/action/adventure - highly recommended. Every season has delivered a significant twist with a great ending. Significant spoilers will occur if you dont watch it from season one as the plot from season to season has impressive coherency.
Fringe - XFiles meets Supernatural - it is still the first season but I am really liking what I have seen so far. Check it out!

Haven't checked out supernatural...
Fringe, from what I've seen I like a lot. But it's on FOX, so the chances of it lasting are kinda low if doesn't turn BIG numbers (well "BIG" numbers according to FOX)

I started off really into Fringe this season but I lost track of it at some point, possibly a day/time change by Fox. I will have to check and see if Hulu has it up. If so I should be able to catch up fairly easily. The actor who plays the father, John Noble, does a great job in that show. I could never remember where I saw him before but recently I caught part of Return of the King while flipping channels and he played Denethor, Faramir and Boromir's father.

I can double that recommendation for Supernatural. Very interesting to see how they handle the various monster myths and integrate them with the "real" world, especially after seeing how Buffy did a similar thing very well.
The only hitch with Supernatural is that it starts kind of slow so you have to give it a chance before deciding to write it off. The series gets much much better as it goes on, and it becomes obvious the writers become more comfortable with the material further into the first season. So if the pilot doesn't hook you, give it a little more before deciding about the show.
My girlfriend has a hard time with the character of Sam because of Jared Padalecki's role as Dean in Gilmore Girls. Adding to the confusion, the main character's names in Supernatural are Dean and Sam. Lead to some fun comments when I showed her the pilot.

As far as what I've seen, Supernatural looks great.
Unfortunately, they always air that series quite late around here (like past midnight) so I tend to miss it very often. I'm still waiting untill it get's a DVD-release :'(
Haven't checked Fringe, no correction, never even heard of Fringe :O
But hey, I used to be X-ofile so I might as well take the time to check that out.

Fringe is a definite must watch for X-File fans. I also lost track of it, but they have the past 10+ shows on Hulu.com if you need to catch up. I just haven't found the time to do so. Really good show though.
I don't watch Supernatural though. Reminds me too much of Buffy, Angel, and other..."supernatural" series. I have seen some episodes and it's rather good. Just not my thing.

I'd say I don't watch supernatual. But every time it's been on lately I've watched the entire episode. I did watch supernatual when it first started coming on because I didn't have cable then and it was either that or watch the paint drying on my wall :p. But when i got cable I lost interest in it until a few weeks ago when for some reason I had it on the channel and I started watching it again.
I have seen every episode of fringe it's a really good show. It definitely gives off an x-files vibe but I'm sure that's exactly what they were going for. That crazy professor guy reminds meof my self so much it's scary. I'm a little more sane I guess ;)
Oh and never ask anyone if they've seen the new episode of fringe when you have a southern accent. Because they think you just asked them about "friends" then they laugh at you a say that show hasntbeen on in years. This has happened to me at least 3 times already :(

I've seen about half of the fringe episodes. Definitely a great premise, and good characters. I love Walter.
I'm seeing how the Pattern ties into all of the episodes as much. The one about the recombinant monster didn't seem to, but the one with the empath kid did.
Most of my friends follow it, I just watch it on hulu when I feel like it.

i liked fringe at first, but it has really gotten pretty stupid if you ask me. it has good moments, but for the most part i just find it dumb.
the first 4-5 episodes were awesome though

Fringe - XFiles meets Supernatural - it is still the first season but I am really liking what I have seen so far. Check it out!Love Fringe! It's my favorite new show of the year and word has it Fox is going to pick it up again for next year. (Dollhouse, and Sarah Connor Chronicles... are, if you follow rumor, fighting amongst themselves for one spot. Though Dollhouse seem to have the upper hand.)
Anyhow, like I said its my favorite show and its been very well written from the beginning. Not sure how many people know this but the though I'm not sure how many people realize it the Observer (the bald head guy who likes spicy food ;) ) is in every episode. Sometimes he passes right buy the main part of the scene while other times he hides in the background. (Its sort of a Where's Waldo in motion.)

supernatural is a great show, i haven't watched every episode, i just watch um here and there when i have time and it's on
fringe on the other hand i've never heard of, but then i don't watch fox anymore, as even if a show gets good ratings on fox they have a tendency to cancel shows mid season, or at the end of a season that leaves you in a total cliff hanger...aka how they canceled "sliders" after the 4th season(or 5th, can't 100% remember) in a total cliff hanger, but luckily scifi channel picked it up and continued it for like 4 more seasons... and then there was one of my all time favs..."john doe", which ran for one season, ended the first season in a cliff hanger, and after the season finale they even had a season 2 preview, and then they canned it b/c they said its ratings weren't as good as they wanted, but i checked all the ratings and another show that was like a fast and the furious style cop show(that had poor stories and writing) was renewed for a second season even though its ratings were exponentially lower( i think it was b/c fast and the furious was still real popular and they hoped it would pick up), and the funny thing was fox ended up canning that show halfway through the second season with no explanation why...so yah bout the only show i catch sometimes on there is "house" and that's rare...
i'll look up fringe though b/c on rare occasion fox does get some good shows...lol

I really enjoy both too!
Supernatural only caught my interest halfway into 2nd season. Initially i thought it was just a nother tween flick like smallville (no offense guys :(). Then i realised the actors are pretty good and it had a serious underlying plot with a great premise. the whole angels & demons always was interesting to me, this series reminded me of "Constatine" the movie. I love that kind of theme... I been watching since, but i still gotta catch up on Season 1...
Fringe, i love and i always explain it to people along the same lines as Denis. It is the X-Files where the supernatural/science replaces the aliens. Watched it since day one, i think the actors were well casted and my fav character by FAR is Walter Bishop played be John Noble (Denethor in LOTR). He pulls off that roll so naturally and has some of the best lines ever!! Not to mention fun stories that are both stand alone and continue to add to the central plot... THE PATTERN!!
Which reminds me, *gasp* i missed both this week... no DVR, but thank God for online episodes!

Seriously? Thats awesome.
Now I have to watch for it. Should be interesting. Kinda an extra, for hardcore fans, like the morse code in Jericho.

fringe is definitely one of my favourite shows on tv at the moment, but (well in england anyway) its on its first series, and about half way through that. the second series has the body hole closing and empath kid, and this is just the 2nd half. the first series was really good, but i think that the 2nd is crazier, and more freaky, and i am enjoying it very much. CHECK IT OUT!!
Supernatural is also excellent, have only watched series 4, but really enjoying it so far.

Very seriously, if you go to fox, view full shows, fringe, you see some extra videos in the bottom row that are less than a minute long... It's the same audio clip but they show you where he's at in each of those episodes.

Fringe is very good.. but unfortunately some rumors are going around about it being cancelled for some odd reason. =/ Short run... I love that show too.
I never got into supernatural... its I dunno weird.. maybe its because i started in the middle of one of the seasons.

Fringe fans take note: Agent Charlie Francis is played by Kirk Acevedo, who voiced the main character in The Darkness.
He does not, in fact, look like Steven Seagal as he did in The Darkness, though they sound quite alike.
Fringe lost my interest somewhere in the second episode, which makes it a very good show by my standards.

The first episodes were really good. It started off really well with the mother dying from some demon or something so the whole season was based on them trying to find that demon. Then i missed a few episodes and it was sorta like smallville was.
Just random bad guys to fill a slot. I caught a few of the newer showes and it seemed they were getting it back on track.

He's on screen (walking behind the main character) from the 40 second mark to the 43 second mark in the linked video. (link (http://eastereggs.fringetelevision.com/2009/04/fringe-easter-eggs-observer-in-midnight.html))

I was just thinking of a show of similar flavor. The Shield is what, a cop show? Comparisons are unnecessary.

Two things:
The Observer was easier to pick out this week... :D
Fringe has been picked up for a second season. (Not much of a surprise but one less TV worry.)
Well, I guess there's a third but it could be left unsaid...
The shows getting better and better each week. :D

Supernatural has done a great job of researching legends and myths that not everyone has heard of. It's nice to see them tie into that as opposed to dreaming things up. The character development has been excellent along the way as well. Well directed visually. Worth turning on a television for.

I started watching Supernatural probably mid-way through the 3rd season with the episode "Mystery Spot" which has Dean being killed over and over again in one hilariously ridiculous way after another a la Groundhog Day. After watching that episode and a friend vehemently suggesting that I keep watching, I went out and bought the first 2 seasons and watched them before the next episode. The show is addicting in that way and I like the episodes where they get to take a break from whatever demon/ghost/big scary monster they have been chasing all season and get to kick some other demon/ghost/big scary monsters tail.
