The last piece of the puzzle, the final addition to the legacy of Tyler Hansbrough, has now been achieved. Tyler may no longer play for North Carolina, but he has left behind one of the most epic legacies in college basketball history.
Not only Tyler, but the entire Tarheels team deserved this. They completely outplayed Michigan State.
Congratulations Tarheels... And Tyler... The hometown hero

Wow, that game made me smile.
I have been watching them for the past 3 years, and these guys deserve it. They were ousted last year by Kansas, and they wanted to win still. They came back swinging, and they prevailed.
I am so happy right now. GO HEELS!!!

The University of North Carolina's basketball team defeated Michigan State University's basketball team in the NCAA championship game on Monday. :) It's a big deal if you're a fan of college hoops.
Personally a little disappointed - even though I don't follow basketball, I grew up in East Lansing (home of MSU) and I still live in Michigan. Having Detroit host the Final Four tournament with a hometown team making it to the finals was a big deal here.

Yes, especially considering the economic conditions in Detroit right now. I am not a UNC fan. They are probably my second least favorite team behind Duke. They still played great though. Next year that team will be missing a lot of power though. UConn and Oklahoma will also be losing a big chunk of their roster or their best players. Should make for an interesting year next year. MSU and Syracuse look really strong for next year, along with Mizzou.

Oh I knew that. I watched that sad excuse of a game.
No offense to Michigan state fans, but that wasn't a game, that was rape.
I mean what happened that was so bad that apparently Ender deleted it all and banned me and bacon.

So you got banned on your "main" posting account, so you start posting with your second account?
At least the system works.

Your sarcasm isn't needed.
I'm just trying to figure out what I did when I wasn't in the right state of mind.
If you weren't around, then your comments aren't needed.

Then you shouldn't have been asking this in the forum like a separate member. You should have sent a PM to ender about it. The posts were deleted due personal attacks between the two parties and a temp ban was issued to cool off.

If by some chance that Lawson comes back (please GOD!!!), I have my money on UNC again. Ellington is most likely coming back, so Lawson, Ellington, Ginyard and Thompson would all return. Then, add Ed Davis as centre, and you have a championship.
Even if Lawson leaves, still a good team.

I highly doubt Lawson is going to stay. He has nothing else to prove there and will be a lottery draft pick.

True.
The Heels need a good PG if they want to survive next year without Lawson.

He is definitely gone. That was hardly a surprise announcement. He was only in the NCAA because of the rule that said he couldn't go to the NBA last year. 100% sure he will be the #1 pick.

that was a sorry excuse for a championship game, i stopped watching at half time, one of the worst games of the whole tourney, all the 12 5 games were much better....
im actually glad psycho T got his championship too bad hes gonna get criticism no matter what, only thing he can do now is win a NBA championship to prove to everyone he wont be a horrible NBA player

Winning an NBA championship won't do much for him or people's questions about him. Not unless he carries that team. UNC could have won without him, they couldn't have won without Lawson. I think he will be a serviceable NBA player but definitely not a perennial all star or anything. He is a much better college player than he will be a pro I think. He is one of the best NCAA players ever stat-wise. Only time will tell I guess.
Griffin will be an NBA beast though, he was far and away the best player in college this year.
Thabeet will struggle but may develop into something very good in a few years. He has little in the way of an offensive game and his block stats were padded by Calhoun's defensive scheme. Their team has been #1 in the nation in blocks for 8 years running. It is a part of their help defense stategy in the low post, not just reliance on one player. He has improved drastically considering he has only been playing basketball for about 4 years. Given another 2 or 3 with some hands on time with a good big man coach for an NBA team and he could be a defensive force.

No IU would be better, UConn would be just as bad.
