I know we have a few hockey fans here so hopefully there will be some who remember a fight they saw enough to dig up a youtube video. I was reading a Bill Simmons article and he had a link to this fight in it. It is possibly the best fight ever in the history of all sports.

I bet no less than 5 people in the stands actually crapped their pants when Bruins players started climbing over the glass to go into the stands. Imagine being the guy who has to go home and explain to his wife why he has prints from his own shoe on his face.

I have always enjoyed hockey, although I dont know much about it, it seems to be a sport that has a good balance of pace and action.

Whenever I go on holidays to land of Canadia... I'll force people to take me to a game or 2. For the time being, I'll just watch people slam each other into glass and start useless fights.

My favorite hitter on the Bruins right now is Milan Lucic, the guy is a beast. He may actually be my favorite hockey player right now. The guy just throws his body around all game long, definitely isn't afraid to fight, and is not half bad in other aspects of the games, unlike most "enforcers" in the league. Also, he is only 20 years old. He reminds me of the Bruins players I used to watch play when I was little, gritty and tough.

Not really a specific hit or one-on-one fight, but here in Detroit you can't talk about hockey fights without mentioning the Wings - Avalanche brawl back in 1997 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Wings-Avalanche_brawl_1997).

I'll never forget seeing that jacka$$ Claude Lemieux go down like a ***** and turtle up while Darren McCarty beat the piss out of him. Lemieux won't toe the scratch in a fair fight, he confines himself to dirty hits and illegal attacks on players after the whistle.

(That's what ignited this brawl in 1997 - in the previous season's Western Conference playoffs, Lemieux came from behind and laid a dirty hit on Wings center Kris Draper, causing Draper's face to smash into the top of the boards in front of the bench. Draper suffered a concussion, broken jaw, fractured orbital bone, broken nose and cheekbones, and had to have facial reconstructive surgery as a result. Needless to say, Detroit doesn't take kindly to little ***** moves like that, and had their revenge the next year.)

I'll see if I can find vids of the various fights in the Wings - Avs brawl when I get home. Wings beat the Avs in overtime, incidentally; McCarty actually scored the winning goal. Big night for one of our favorite grinders. :)

Probert vs Coxe (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GgG2WPq1qpA)

The 2 gigantic uppercuts at the end make me laugh every time.

I'm not a fan of useless fights in games, but the best fighter in the league right now is George Laraque. The guy is a beast, heh. And just look at him while fights, he just keeps smiling and laughing at his opponent.

Personnally, I prefer goals and good plays. Ovechkin is always a pleasure to watch during a game.

And thats the goal I was looking for :

Awesome move to go around the D.

I hope Canadiens can finish 7th so I get to see the guy play against them.
