Let's see if there is more of a variety than with music.

I tend to gravitate to either comedy or action if I have downtime to just watch something or if I want to get my mind off something. I enjoy all kinds of movies but what I watch depends on my mood more than anything else most times.

I mostly watch comedy.
I usually end up keeping the tv on comedy central all day so I see plenty of old comedies.
I also like action though to much can start to get boring.

Comedy, all the way. I want to be entertained when I watch a movie. I like a good action flick, and superhero movies as of late have been very well done. Fantasy and sci fi can be good too.

I despise most horror movies, as they all seem to be cliche. Drama just bothers me. Why watch a drama when I have enough in my own life already?!

Sci Fi FTW! But i'm not really that fussy. I never watch period dramas tho, I don't give a stuff about women who wear dresses and hats and the like.

Well when I said drama I wasn't really thinking about any specific genre like period dramas, I was more of reverting back to the ancient Greek theater. I forget which famous Greek philosopher it was, but he said there are only two genres comedy and drama. So I was just using drama for any genre that I missed.

It is hard to pick just one. I would go with Horror as #1 but I love scifi and comedy which can both be horror too....LOL

What would you call "The Thing" - scifi or horror. Or "Critters" that could be all three of the above.

But you did forget one important genre - old wire-fu movies with dubbed english voices. You could say they are action but they are sooooo much more and I will always stop for those...

I think it was Homer.

I just realized I completely screwed that up. It wasn't drama and comedy it was tragedy and comedy. So you can forget everything I said above.

No it wasn't Homer or any of the play writers like Sophocles, but a philosopher like Aristotle or someone.

I remember in one of my Shakespeare classes in college, my professor telling us "it's easy to tell tragedy from comedy. At the end of a tragedy, everyone dies. At the end of a comedy, everyone gets married and has a feast." LOL

And PG, you are my hero! Overdubbed classic kung-fu FTW :D

What's best is turning the volume down to supply your own overdubbed dialog. :D

I always love the Shaolin vs Wu Tang dialog that RZA sampled in the song "Severe Punishment:"

'Your killing... your... raping. It's.... despicable.'
'Are you.... my judge?'
'It's just... you should be punished. I'm gonna chop off your arm. Are you ready?'

I dont see PORN on the vote poll. Whats up with that?

Old school kung fu movies I agree FTW!! Famous move - "Snake in the grass"

I always liked the little guy with the glasses that (the right hand man of the MASTER!!) would talk alot of **** and have 800 karate gang members to back him up (he would never fight)

BB, why you gotta be all up on my Sandy Brown? Hahaha.

I put action, because the largest number of my DVD's fit that category.

Sci-fi horror is a close second.

I'll watch any and all.

I really enjoy comedy and sci-fi but I also have extensive action and adventure in my collection. Horror I don't have that much of but I'll watch it...just depends on the movie. Drama is ok, I have quite a few of those but they're so depressing so I don't tend to watch a lot of drama.

For those that voted Sci-Fi, I'm hope you're glad to know that you've got "Battlefield Earth" in that category. ^_^

I voted drama, even though it got treated like the redheaded stepchild category. :(

All the good movies are dramas. The rest is just fluff.

I agree. What really connects me to a movie and its characters is the emotion; the drama.

Horror movies, and I recommend the first season of Masters of Horror.

All links are in the order the episodes aired with the exception of Imprint, which Showtime deemed too inappropriate.
