Syracuse vs. UConn, Syracuse wins after 6 OVERTIMES!!!

-8 people fouled out
-244 total points, 102 of which were scored AFTER the final buzzer.
-winning 3 pointer in regulation waved off, then about a million missed chances after that
-Syracuse playing walk ons
-UConn with 1 forward and no centers left playing 4 guards together
-nearly 3 hours and 53 minutes from tip off to final score.
-Syracuse wins after never leading in any of the first 5 overtimes.
-six individual players with double-doubles
-Syracuse's next game tips off 17 hours after this one ended.

Easily the best basketball game I have ever seen. The recap article is here:

Wow... 7 people fouled out? That's incredible.

That's a weird game, Especially with Syracuse winning after not leading the overtimes.

6 overtimes? That's impressive defense/horrible defense/incredible luck.

ya I watched the whole game it was intense, Id have to say the championship game last year between kansas and memphis was better with that buzzer tier, but it was an awesome game none the less cant wait for march madness and bracket time

I don't know about but it was definitely the best game I've seen in a while. 4 freakin' hours, I didn't think walkers tiny *** would have made the shot to tie it in the first place. Then I never thought it would end. I was kinda sad when it was finally over.

Stupid Canadian tv... :(

Anyways, it was a big day in the NCAA....UConn, Pitt, and Oklahoma all lost.

I was wrong, it was 8 people. :)

I corrected some of the stats and stuff about the game in the OP.

I have seen a ton of college BBall and that was just the craziest game ever. It should have ended about 1000 times before it got as far as it did. Every overtime I got less and less confident in UConn's chance to close it out since they kept losing all their big men. I have never seen a game with as much weird stuff as that one had, and as many forced weird circumstances. Even as a UConn fan I couldn't be disappointed at the end after being able to watch that. Somebody had to lose. As a silver lining, at least UConn can rest a bit before the tournament, while Syracuse has to keep playing, starting tonight.

March Madness and the conference tournaments are my favorite time in the sports year and if I could only choose one sporting event to watch all year this would be it.

it was as epic as a Yankee/Red Sox matchup! And poor Sw0ll's Jayhawks. Baylor playing spoiler once again to a number 1 seed in the conference.

I am not looking forward to making this year's picks since no one seems to be able to dominate and hold a top rank. It is going to be quite a challenge, and I will have to sit down and analyze moreso than any year.

I was going to come in today and write about this game. This was an amazing game last night. The thing that got me was, after such a long game both team were making there money shot. Damm what a game, if only Duke had that kind of heart.

Kemba Walker had a lot of big rebounds in that game, for a little guy he spent a lot of time down low once the ball was in the air. He was all over the place, as was Jonny Flynn, who was flat out amazing This was also Walker's first start of the season. The thing that got me about the game was people still diving for balls and flying out of bounds to make saves in the 3rd 4th 5th overtimes. Gritty stuff.

UConn really missed Jerome Dyson last night, he was their go-to guy/closer in the first half of the year. With him I think they had a good title shot for this year, right now with him gone because of his knee I think they are more of an elite 8 team unless someone gets that closer ability really quick.

I am just happy Dick Vitale wasn't calling the game. He would have had an aneurysm or something. Bilas, McDunough, and Raftery did a good job. The refs called an AMAZING game as well. For a game to go that long and not have big controversial calls affect the outcome is a testament to that.

I agree, Dick Vitale can go to hell.

I placed a bet on my jayhawks two days ago, yesterday when I looked at the score, I was crushed. Nothing sucks more than losing money at the books.

At least I bet the over on the Syracuse - UConn game!!!!

Oh well, I'm still positive since I've moved to Vegas.

The only cammentator that is worse that Vitale is Reggie Miller, hes so bad i can barely watch the games he calls.
