Admit it.. at least one movie you've watched has made your eyes leak.

The first movie to reach me on an emotional level and really jerk a few tears was Gladiator. Right at the end there.. so sad..

"We will meet again.. but not yet.. Not yet."

I've never cried during any movie.

I've felt emotion over deaths and what-not, but I'm never compelled to actually weep for any character in any movie I've yet seen (I saw Gladiator as well BTW; the ending was awesome).

It has only happened in one movie, and that was an obscure animated film called Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. I was veritably shattered by that film.

The only movie that made me cried is an animated one, by the great Miyazaki's studio Ghibli: Firefly's Tomb.

I can't recall any movie's that made me teary eyed. I was always tought to shed blood before tears. Unfortunatly cannibus is an emotion enchanceing drug that I use on a daily basis, so only a few games have caused me to be teary eyed instead of movies. (Kingdomhearts:2 & Grandia3):)

I Am Legend actually...

but that was because I had to put my 13 year old Siberian Husky to sleep a week before I watched I Am Legend... still get a tear or too in that scene!

Sorry for the sad story lol
other than that, I have only been choked up. Saving Private Ryan, Gladiator, and Lost Odyssey come to mind.

The only movie that has made me cry was "The Lion King" when it came out.

Other movies have made me tear up but never cry.

I thought back, and I dont think I've ever cried at a show/movie. I have gotten extremely emotional (both happy and sad) in some things.

Pursuit of Happiness got me so bad. I was pretty much sobbing.

In movies, if a chick is crying, cool. But if a guy cries in a movie, it gets to me.

Requiem for a Dream makes me cry often... hard to explain..

When I was a kid I'd cry everytime Artex died in the wamp of Sadness while Atryeu was screaming... :(

Some other good tearjerker sports movies.

Brian's Song - older flick, but definitely the movie most likely to make grown men cry.
synopsis here (some spoilers) http://movies.msn.com/movies/movie-synopsis/brian%27s-song.1/

Remember the Titans - definitely got "dusty in the attic" after... (SPOILER highlight below to see it)

....the car accident when the linebacker gets paralyzed and the team is in the waiting room

I did not start this section for you guys to get all sappy on me. Now we will probably have a thread about which girl(s) broke your heart. Man what is this site coming to. Odin is shedding a tear from his single eye right now. LOL J/K

I can't think of a movie that actually made me cry but some that really kind of made me sad for a few days were "Pan's Labyrinth" by del Toro and "The Pianist".

Wow...maybe a movie did make me cry. I was just thinking about this and when I remembered the movie "Life is Beautiful" I actually started to tear up. For those who have not seen it. It is a great movie. It is about a misfit who romances the girl of his dreams and they have a son just before WWII. They end up getting seperated in different concentration camps and he tries to find his wife while also protecting his son from the horrors of daily life.

I wonder if the fact that I have a son now is having any effect, because I am actually tearing up thinking about this movie. DAMN YOU ENDER!!!!! ]

I can be a fairly emotional person at times, but movies generally don't make me cry. I've gotten choked up a few times. The one that I remember most was "Patch Adams" with Robin Williams when his love interest in the film is murdered by one of her crazy patients.

How can you hate Gump?.. Thats almost disturbing. However I think everyone hated jenny. This didn't make me cry until I became a father..
and requiem just hits too close to home for me.

I don't want to start a flame session over religion with this one, but Passion of the Christ broke me down to almost nothing. I saw that movie in the theater at a real tumultuous time in my life and it struck my soul chord...

Shaynard, I am with you bro. I too get into deep connections with movies and have no problem shedding a tear or two of joy or sadness. Like when Goose died...oh man!

Certainly being a father has me looking at movies and feeling them differently. PG, I still can't watch Happyness becuase I know it will have me balled up like a little girl. I just get that vibe from it.

Both already mentioned.
Requiem for a Dream and Life is Beautiful, both excellent films that tugged at some tears.
I didn't full on weep, but believe it or not Blade Runner always tugs at my emotions.
Remastered, HD, 7.1 surround... gets me super emotional... rofl!

That film is so poetic. :p

Alright I haven't cried watching any movie, but felt strongly emotional at times watching a movie here and there, or I could relate enough so that it got me:
-Saving Private Ryan: Losing friends and family that you've known and "fought"(not literally) with for years.
-Iron Giant: I was 5 when I saw this and I felt so goddamned sad for the kid in the movie

I'm too much of a man to cry, but if any movie would make me cry, it probably would be Big Daddy.

The part where the kid gets taken away, and then at the end when they're in court.

Old Yeller killed me when I was little. Only Walt Disney could make a movie about a kid having to shoot his own dog and call it a kids movie.

Hmm....A movie that made me cry....I actually got choked up while watching a scene of Watchmen.

Hmmmmmm, Gladiator is one of the best movies ever, and it did make me tear up a little, but other than that, I really can't think of anything.

Oh, wait! The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button made me sob, only twice though

There are a lot of good picks in here.

I recently watched the Iron Giant. One of my best friends got it for my kids and it had me a little emotional, especially when my little girl started tearing up when the giant SPOILERS exploded.

Netflix just delivered Saving Private Ryan which I haven't seen since it first came out, and I was such a Thin Red Line snob that I didn't pay it much heed. Having grown out of my late teen snobbery I feel like I will enjoy it a lot more (and having played lots of Call of Duty since then...).

Like Nicholbert and Shaynard, I'm in touch with my emotional side and have shed a few tears at a few movies.

Probably the one that makes me shed a tear almost everytime I watch it is "What Dreams May Come."

"Bucket List" is a guaranteed tear jerker...unless you're an emotionless loner who doesn't care about living, dying, or accomplishing anything in your life.

Those that fall under that category would probably not watch the movie anyway.

I would also like to add the "LOTR: The Return of the King". For me, I can't help cry because I grew up with that story and to see it done so brilliantly...I didn't want the story to end and was sad that it had to.

@ the LOTR: The movie was done masterfully but it made me so mad that they didn't do the actual ending from the book. That was such a key part of the books and told the rest of the story of Sauromon and how he really came to pass.

Another thing that made me mad, from the first book, was them leaving out Tom Bombadil. He played a key part in the first book and they didn't even hint to his existance.

All they needed to do was throw in an extra 5 to 10 minutes for each and I would of been satisfied.

Well as it stands the extended editions last like 14hrs. I've told people before if they had done it true to the book, it probably would have last 24hrs over the span of the three movies. They missed quite a bit, but I think it good in a way as you can only get the true feel of the story from the books.

I'm truly scared as to how much they'll leave out of "The Hobbit".

The only film I think that actually jerked a tear out of me (that I can remember) is What Dreams May Come.

I may be in touch with my emotional side, but it's rare for me to actually cry, though I may be touched/moved by the film. Children of Men very nearly got me, as did Crash.

Oddly enough, when I first saw "Waltz for Venus", episode 8 of Cowboy Bebop, it really got me in the final scene when SPOILER Roco dies, and resulted in exactly 2 tears.

Only movie that's made me cry in recent history is "The Return of the King." The part where Aragorn bows down to the four hobbits at the end got me a bit misty, but the parting at the Gray Havens was incredibly sad, but fitting. I'm glad the film handled that moment so well.

PsyXel, re: the omissions, I think leaving out Tom Bombadil and the "Sharkey" part at the end of RotK were acceptable. The movies HAD to omit material from the books, period - we just can't have everything. As fascinating as Tom Bombadil was in the books, he wasn't essential for the main story that the movies set out to tell. Same with the Sharkey bit at the end - it's an interesting, but minor facet overall, IMO.

I can agree with the Tom Bombadil part, they could leave that out seeing as he made his appearance in the first book and no other. The Sharkey ending, I think, should of been put in. Reason being, the end of the two towers and beginning of return of the king left Sauroman alive. He had no power over the realm of men but he found that he could invade and control the hobbits. He might of not had magic but he definitely still had orcs at his command. I just think the story of sauromon was left open. What, he stays in his tower till he dies? Just so open ended.

Ahh, no wonder, you're going off of the cinematic release. I was thinking "no, he's betrayed by Grima Wormtongue and murdered, it's not open-ended at all." But that's only in the extended director's cut:

"Despite this increased role in the first two films, the scenes involving Saruman that were shot for use in the third film, The Return of the King, were not used in the cinematic release, a decision which "shocked" Lee. Jackson reasoned that it would be anticlimactic to show Saruman's fate in the second movie (after the Battle of Helm's Deep) and too retrospective for it to be in the third one. The cut scenes, which are based on the chapters The Voice of Saruman and The Scouring of the Shire, end with Saruman falling to his death from the top of Orthanc after being stabbed by Wormtongue and are included at the start of the Extended Edition DVD release of the film." (From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saruman (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saruman))

Ah, ok. Yeah I haven't seen the extended cut for the return of the king. I saw it for the first two films but haven't gotten around to watching the final extended cut.

Well, even though that closes up the concern of sauroman, I'm still standing by what I said on the ending of the return of the king. They should of thrown in the conflict at the end and then ended it as Mary, Pippin, Frodo, and Sam as the hero's of the shire.
