I just caught up on the episodes last night....
I just want Peter to get his damn powers back. Syler's dad was a neat episode as well... I think were going to see more of him (the Dad). And im exited to see how Syler is going to play out with the new government plan to come after them.
Also Im guessing that Peters brother (the senator, i forget name) is now on the rebellion side.
Also I belive Rebel is Nikies kid! (the electronic powers little boy)
If that spoiles anything then Im sorry........

I love this show, it is definitely among my favorites on TV. This season has been great so far, now that they are back to defined roles. Last year everyone was switching from good guy to bad guy so much you never had any flow from show to show. Every week people were flip flopping. They went back to the original writers towards the end of the season last year and I think it has really shown in the product this season.

I have a feeling "Rebel" is Micah. I wouldn't consider that to be a spoiler because it's not for sure yet, but I have a really strong feeling since he is able to contact everyone through various forms of technology.

I said the same thing but my wife told me I was wrong, her point was that we haven't seen him since last season and there has been no mention of him at all this season.(I still think it is though)

apparently she sees the future, and may have some bits of Parkman's mind reading. I think they have been intentionally vague about her power all along.

I thought the most ridiculous part was the sound he made while doing it. I kept wondering if it was really dry out and he was really parched and he couldn't do that whistle sound would the power still work?

Dreams of the future.
And Rebel being Micah would make sense with how easily he (Rebel) is able to hack into the government servers.

What is Peter Patrellies mothers power?

she can see into the future while she's asleep
and as for Rebel, there was a character they only touched briefly on in the first season(was in part of one episode) but they did a lot with her in the online heroes comics/novels, whose ability was that she could wirelessly connect to any electronic device, aka cellphones, computers, TV's, etc... Hana Glitman was her name, and as cool as it would be to see it be Micah, i'm thinking it's pry her, but it could possibly be a guy named Richard Drucker who has a similar power, but has only been in the online novels....
i can't wait for peter to get his full powers back, him only having 1 power @ a time is kinda a new dynamic to his character, but getting old at the same time, i'm hoping he just needs to relearn how to use the full extent of it again, maybe it'll end up being similar to his dad's power, it's hard to tell right now as he really hasn't had time to mess with it much...it would be nice for hiro to get his back again....i just think it's kinda odd they took 2 of the more popular characters and fobar'd them but i'm hoping they'll resolve it all in time

I'll keep that in mind next time, sorry iron.
There's a lot more to the episode than that though, in fact, for the amount of hype they put into Rebel's reveal, they didn't give it that much weight in the episode.
They never do. Its so that people are kept off balance.

Really liked the "cold snap" build up, thought the re-introduction of Micah in physical presence was awesome, and knew that the Petrelli's are way too slick a bunch to get caught blindsided, even in an elevator. And I agree w/ Spaz, this season is taking the cake. It feels and flows much more smoothly, like the early episodes. I've been trying not to miss a one of the new season, and am very excited about the future for the series. Next week, America's favorite serial killer!

I don't remember exactly how they got there, but they are baby sitting for a baby named "Matt Parkman" ironically.
SPOILER BELOW:
The baby has a power to turn electronic devices on by touching them. Last night, the agents came to get the baby and Hiro stopped time, but couldn't unstop it.
Hiro stopped time, but couldn't unstop it.
First, the child is Matt Parkman's kid with his ex-wife, the cheating one from the first season. Second, Hiro could start time again, but couldn't teleport. So he carted Ando 12 miles before starting time again.

Hulu.com for people that need to catch up. It's how I got caught up. I didn't want to even look at this thread until I did.
I'm liking all the new twists. Good call on whoever pick out REBEL's true identity. I had a suspicion it was that person, but wasn't a 100%. BTW, how many times are they going to kill off Ali Larter's characters? I mean, I know she'll be back as someone new since they said she was a clone and didn't allude to how many times she was cloned but come on!

It was a tear and a blink I thought, not a wink. THere was definately a tear that fell, and then that post cry blink you get on tv. And she's a triplet and we've seen 2 die now, so I think there's one more that we'll meet... hopefully. I think baby touch n go is hilarious though, just the name. You are right about the tear. I didn't see that the first couple times. They still have "outs" to keep her alive. She may be able to melt and reform. We just don't know. I am fine with not having her on though. I thought her characters were always among the least interesting in the series.

I dunno, I kind of like her ice chick character. Although it would be fun to see her play a more balanced personality that isn't constantly swinging from side to side (not that anyone on the show outside of hiro is all that balanced) I was sad to see daphne die like that. It was a cute way for matt to let her die, but still....

sry all could be a spoiler...
hopefully at some point baby touch and go will reactivate the rest of hiro's powers, and i would be kinda interested to see what would happen if baby touch and go touched peter....think about it peter has a stripped down version of his power right now...if that baby were to touch him would it reactivate the full extent of his powers, but he would be back at square one with his full power mimic ability and none of the powers he had b4 he got depowered, or would he get every single power back he ever had...or would he just be depowered again...?
i do agree it was nice how Matt is spending the last few min b4 Daphne is completely gone with her...
i kinda like how they've put HRG back in the position in which we can't really tell what side he's on,(like the first season) but it does seem to me that he is mostly just playing Danko to see what his real plan is...
and does anyone else think that there might be a chance that Danko has a power of some sort??? Angela P. mentions an attack or something that he was the only survivor of, and something like that is what leads me to think he might have a power...i just can't wait to see how it goes what him and sylar meet...will be good
I doubt Danko has any powers. It would be nice if they gave peter back all his powers.
kouper
03-28-2009, 05:01 AM
I think peter was starting to end up being overpowered. But I did like the dichotomy of him and sylar. One devours his victim to acquire their power. Where the other empathizes to do the same. I did like seeing and project his power into a beam. I wanna see hrg find a way to make a definitive stand as good or bad. But when he does I wan it to be something that's incredi my surprising. Give him some power and have him tear dankos head off.

This series is becoming one big mindf*ck. Read Below if you saw the last finale:
First the Syler now being Nathan deal on top of everything else in that trailer, I'm beginning to think the writers are struggling to come up with cohesive content.
Batou079
07-31-2009, 02:02 PM
Well, Villains was not the usual writers due to the writer's strike ordeal.
Then they came back to write for Fugitives and it was obvious.
This next season, Redemption is the aftermath of the last volume, where they try to re-establish their "normal" lives where multiple storylines will be carried out. The producers were saying at the Heroes panel @ ComiCon that each episode will now focus on only 2-3 people's story at a time, rather than a collage of 3-6 character's stories at a time like the past.
This way, they can try and connect us more with each character.
Getting us more emotionally involved i spose.
First the Syler now being Nathan deal on top of everything else in that trailer, I'm beginning to think the writers are struggling to come up with cohesive content.
Actually Spaz, that ties back into the first season, where Peter and Hero break into the building in the "future".

Yes, I know what your talking about. And I'm talking about from the first season where Nathan is president in the future and fights with Peter. Than changes into Sylar during said fight.
the power sylar displayed in that alternate future wasn't shapeshifting, if you go back and watch it, the power he was using to look like nathan, he probably got from Candice Wilmer(who has the ability to create illusions, such as make herself basically 'be' anyone), you can tell its that b/c sylar 'turns' the illusion off twice, once when he attacks claire, and then again when he goes to fight peter...if you compare how he 'turns' it off it's done the same way Candice 'turned' hers off...
so i can see what ur trying to point out iron, but then it wouldn't be the first time the show hasn't completely followed continuity...
example: i think it was in the first season Issac had painted a painting of Hiro holding his sword up to a dinosaur( with the blade unsheathed and shiny) and they show the painting happening with Hiro stealing a duplicate of the sword from a museum and then holding it up in front of a dinosaur in the dino exhibit( the sword was still sheathed and was not shiny like in the painting)
or: where'd that cute irish girl go that peter left in the alternate future in season 2? peter was determined to get her back till season 2 ended, and it was if she was completely forgotten about in season 3...guess we have only bad writing to blame...lol
but i still love the show, can't wait for new season

Yeah, for the most part I still like the heros plot and story line...
It's just little things that tick me off. The plot has grown so much that it takes three to four shows to complete a segment.
Luckily I have DVR so I can record and watch the show commercial free. Well that didn't help to much, Sprint is doing something where you text to vote on a hero. I stop fast-forwarding and realize its a freaking commercial. On top of that NBC runs a little banner at the bottom of the screen to advertize Jay Leno. Pisses my off, Jay Leno can die in a fire.

possible spoiler:
I think the compass has something to do with the premise set at the beginning of the episode.
The funeral, the person in the casket, their connection to a compass (as was thrown in the hole with him) and the guys speech on "their kind" gathering together.
So the broken compass may have some weird connection to guiding people with powers together.

i think
nathan is going to become sylar and peter is going to become obbseed with getting more powers like sylar did, and matt is gonna go insane and try to help sylar get his body back,

err wtf is with the ending of this weeks episode?
spoiler below:
We all knew that "executing" nathan wouldn't do anything... however when he crawled out of the ground they show us SYLAR? Is that simply visual representation, or did getting shot (in the head maybe) affect his natural ability to hold the form of nathan... so in his MIND he is still nathan, but once he sees a mirror he'll be like OMFGWTFBBQSAUZE!! anyway, that last episode kinda fustrated me... slow & random!

if you watched the preview for next weeks episode, it showed a police interrigating sylar, and i think sylar is sylar now, and when the nathan personality was shot it "killed" that personality and now sylar is sylar or at least what he would be w/o all the crazyness of his actual personality that matt now has it in his head...(man this is getting as bad as normal comics)
so just imagine sylar being himself and not being himself almost like a amnesia of sorts(only it can't be fixed unless matt does it as he holds it), kinda like how when peter had amnesia in the second season he was him but not him...
i kinda like where they are going with this season so far...i still want Peter to get his original power back somehow...

Pft.
Well, the nathan sylar thing is a hoax. The writers want you to think that.
What will happen to them? Here's how everything will play out:
Nathan's not dead, he will be fighting a multiple personality issue over for the rest of the season. This season will end with some sort of closure about the nathan sylar plot.
Peter will break down at some point.
Noah will get back into his old line of work
This is Heros, the writers are milking it. I have lost a lot of respect for the show since season 2. That being said I will watch it every week, even though nothing happens.
Every episode is the same, recap on all plot lines from the past couple of weeks, and maybe show something new, might happen, or might not.
Then fill in with Sprint advertisements. Text Heros to 55555 to find out what happens next? yeah F that.

After the latest episode it looks like the carnival group will restore Sylar's memory then they will look like a buffet of new powers for Sylar to get.
Wonder if they will try to get Peter's powers back to stop Sylar?

I recently decided to start watching this show.. I am two Episodes into the second season.. ALthough I have no idea how many seasons they have made.
This show is evil and telling us all the wrong things.. "Know thy enemy" I believe in, so I watch.. Well written show in the first season (all i have to go on this far).. I loved the way some episodes when back and forth through time to tell the story.. Well done.
The character development really had you waiting on the edge of the seat for new info.. another well done aspect of the show. Also the special effects are very well done for TV.

Season 2 is not as good a 1 was, 3 was better than 2. Season 4 is the current season

Anyone watch heros tonight. I'm begining to like this season a little bit more.
I would like to see one plot line all the way through. I hate jumping back and forth, over one show.
They have always done it that way. And I kind of like it. :p

Yup and I found it...anti-climactic. The twist at the end should make for another time altering good start for the next season.
Still getting a little tired of all the build up and no decent finishes to their seasons in the past couple years. It's really becoming quite disappointing.

this was definately the worst ending of the season yet
they built it up only to *poof* the ending...no big battle or anything, just up oh well the big bad guy now has no powers b/c hiro just teleported everyone away, a couple punches, and some crazy talk and end of battle=crap, and i'm sorta interested to see where they are gonna go with what claire did, the comic on the official website tells a lil more but not much...

I agree (although I have absolutely loved the past few episodes) that:
The ending was really lame. As it usually is.. the best part of each season finale is pretty much always the first few minutes of the next season episode one.
Sylar freakin rules all things... Nuff said!! If they turn him evil again I will be pissed.
As much as I like Hiro, I was actually sorta happy they were either killing him or taking away his ability.
Good show.. Goodtimes...

We will see... My wife and I have been in constant debate over it because I am sure he's good, and we end up good in the end.. Even if I'm wrong, Sylar is still BA.. So it's win-win for me.. hehe
Based on Matt 'going in his head" to see if it's "just an act" and Matt allowing them to leave.. I'd say I have a solid chance at getting it my way. I'll be cool with it if I'm wrong.

True.. and I agree.. It would be.
Spoilers:
I have always been of the opinion he is good because that is where he started.. After Mohinder's father (name escapes me) basically made fun of him, and told him he was "not special" Sylar got angry. People who are good and then turn onto a dark path out of anger rarely remain there forever. At least not in fiction.. Even Darth Vader "came around". I'm hoping they go this root.. That said they are going to need a really good "bad guy" for this season otherwise. based on the finale/start to the next season.. They have many doors open to introduce new "Villian's" if Sylar is to remain 'A Hero".

It would stand to reason...if Sylar, Peter, and Peter's father all had the same relative power, then it's possible they aren't the only ones who could possess such a power. ;) It would make for some more good knock down drag out super powered fights. :D

I only really say that because I think their budget and SFX were much better the first year, but started to dwindle after the second season didn't do so hot. The writer strike really screwed Heroes over. I don't think they've truly recovered yet or if they ever will fully.

It certainly was.. The camera work on the show is at times really lame, and at other's truly brilliant. They seemed to be doing some really weird close-up's on cheesy one liners that made me think of the main guy from CSI:Miami ... Happened a lot with Noah's scenes.
You are right, that strike hurt them in several ways.

I effin hate CSI: Miami for that very character. Can he at least vary the way he delivers his lines? Nooo, that might actually be called acting.
Sorry, he just really annoys the piss out of me.
Yeah, anyway with the strike and the economic downturn I've noticed a lot of shows 'playing it safe' like Heroes has been doing since then. First you notice little stuff like lack of deep action sequences. Then it's lengthier dialog where none is required. After that it's camera angles that cut down on the need for set backgrounds like you noticed. I just continue to notice little things like these where the only real excuse for their use would be to cut spending corners.
I really wish someone producing and directing these shows would grow some balls again already. We need our risky and exciting shows back.

Heroes had decent story build-ups in the past three seasons...but little to no delivery when it came time for the finale.
It's like being told you're going to get the toy or game you wanted for so long for Christmas and the day comes and goes with nothing to show for it.
Where they left it is just fine with me as I could only see it getting worse before it gets even more horrible if they continued from there.
Decent idea. Poor maintenance and delivery. :(
Btw, Flashfoward reminds me of Dollhouse with how boring it was. Not upset it'll be gone giving...hopefully...some decent shows a shot. I hope this new The Gates show gets canceled in the first couple weeks too.

I am not sure if it was the strike or what, but Heroes really went downhill for me after the first season. The first season was like Wrath of Kahn, the next were like Star Trek V to use an analogy.
Same with Dollhouse. I really like Whedon's work and thought Firefly defintiely got screwed over, however Dollhouse just never really connected like I wanted it to for me.
If you really want to see the horrific results of the writers strike, watch "The Bionic Woman". Truly cringe inducing stupidity and plots. It also didn't help it that the villian, played by Katee "Starbuck" Sackhoff of BSG fame outshone the main character in every scene and left you waiting for her next reappearance.

They let go a bunch of the original writers to cut budget on the show after the first year, iirc. Then things spiraled and the fans started complaining, and the ratings started dropping. Around mid season three they brought back some of the original season one writers and that is when they stopped the whole "time travel back to be a samurai Hiro" and flip-flopping good guy/bad guy stuff.
The show never recovered from the mess those other writers had made, and neither did the ratings.

Apparently the executive producer of Heroes tried to get NBC to let him make a 2 hour wrap up episode, kind of like Farscape got to do after a quick axe I guess, but NBC said no. Talk about no loyalty to a show that did a lot for you and also no sense of what the fans would like. Network TV is terrible and I am glad it is killing itself.
Apparently he is now shopping Heroes to game companies in hopes of making a game to finish the TV series.
